Any tips to fight awful Mouth Taste? + ptyalism

Hello! Is anyone else having an awful taste in their mouth due to nausea or ptyalism??

I don't know if everyone with nausea has it or it comes only with ptyalism...My mouth tastes awful (it's not the mouth taste that comes after vomit, it's a different one 😅). Dont really have words to describe it - as if your own saliva / mouth taste makes you nauseous.

Have you found anything that helps you cope with the taste even for a few hours?

Chewing gum makes ptyalism worse for me. Eating helps, but due to HG I cannot eat all the time..

Many thanks in advance!

Jealous and guilty for the nice pregnancy i cant have

i feel awful for saying this but I have 2 other women in my friends and family circle, same week as mine.

their pregnancy has been a breeze, and one of them even complains about the tiniest things - things that an HG woman would see as a piece of cake compared to the vomiting, saliva, nausea and mental torture that we go through. everytime they complain i go nuts.

Ive caught myself being so jealous of the pregnancy i cant have. and i feel guilty for being jealous because nobody deserves a tough pregnancy.

still, when i see other pregnant women by the beach, going out, vacaying while im stuck in bed for 8 months thinking its too late to take my life now (jokingly and not jokingly!)…i get so depressed

im grieving the moments i cant have. And i know i should be grateful for the miracle that we all carry, but its just not enough to keep me mentally strong. I feel weak, and jealous and guilty.

anyone else feeling like this?

Glucose test with HG - any tips / whats your experience?

Hi everyone, Im a candidate for gestational diabetes and my doctor just signed me up for a glucose test. She knows I have HG, I told her considering my severe nausea once I wake up I dont think I'll be able to drink a bottle of glucose without throwing it up... and wait also on empty stomach for another 2 hours to complete the test.

Her response 'well if it fails, you're gonna have to do it again'...what an insight!!! I was wondering how did anyone with HG do it? Any tips or alternatives that worked for you? Thanks in advance

Is this recovery? Week 21, nausea won't quit

I had severe HG until around week 15. After that, I stopped vomiting. However, I’m now 21 weeks, and I still have what I would describe as debilitating nausea. How was the progress for you?

I can finally eat some foods like pasta and certain fruits without throwing up, so I know things are better. But I still constantly feel like I'm about to vomit. I have severe food aversions, I'm very sensitive to smells and movement, and I feel like I'm spending all day trying to stop myself from being sick.

I also have severe ptyalism. I'm still spitting into a bottle all day and night because my saliva and the taste in my mouth make me nauseous.

I guess what I'm struggling to understand is this.. when people say their HG "passed" at 14, 20, or 21 weeks, is this the kind of state they're talking about? Or do they mean the nausea and sickness genuinely went away? Is what Im feeling now all in my mind? :(

For those who had HG improve without completely disappearing, what did recovery actually look like for you? Did you still have constant nausea, ptyalism, smell sensitivity, and that feeling of being on the verge of vomiting all the time?

Also, has anyone found Zofran (or anything else) helping with nausea? Metoclopramide helped me during the peak weeks with vomit, but not with nausea. My doctor tells me ‘try ginger again’ and 'be patient pregnancy is tough' obviously without herself being an HG warrior. Im going crazy with her...

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who had a similar experience.
