Pregnant bridesmaid!
My best friend is getting married late 2027. She’s planned her bachelorette for early June (it does require flying/ staying 4 days) since she set the date TWO bridesmaids have announced unplanned pregnancies. They’re BOTH due in May! Bride has done a wonderful job being happy for them to their face, but is losing her shit behind closed doors as her bachelorette is dwindling by the second. Not to mention some bridesmaids couldn’t come from the beginning due to finances or family obligations. I’m one of the most dependable bridesmaids who will always show up to everything and never miss an exciting moment or milestone. (I’m the only bridesmaid giving a speech at the wedding, to put it into perspective.) well….. I just found out I am also pregnant. My husband and I have been trying for a very long time, but never told our friends as we’d been struggling and wanted to keep it to ourselves. This is my first pregnancy and I am ECSTATIC but also terrified to tell her. I’m not through my first trimester yet and my husband have always agreed that we wouldn’t tell anyone until 3 months in, but I have to tell her in case it impacts her bachelorette plans. I’ll be due in May so my baby will be weeks old by the time of her party. I have no idea if I would feel comfortable going, I would be DEVASTATED to miss it. I plan on telling her next weekend, but I really don’t want to. I don’t want to tell anyone yet, and especially not anyone that will have any feelings other than enthusiastic excitement. I also feel terrible for her because I know how incredibly stressful weddings are and the last thing I want to do is add any amount of stress or extra planning. No idea what to do! Tell her and hope for the best, I guess? I wish I was in the position to stop trying until after her wedding but with how many failed attempts we’ve had that just wasn’t in the cards for us.
