I made a thing for my new gnome room! It's made almost entirely out of Neighborhood vendors items, other than the Kaldorei fence posts used for the rivets and giant screw on top.

To honor loa of the past and loa yet to come, inspired by these loa spotted in the wild.
Maybe I created this to spur conversations with viewers about how fusing items from different social, cultural, and economic backgrounds creates something entirely new.
Maybe it's just meant to confuse and vex people.
Maybe I just wanted to fill the space with purple or purple-adjacent things from my inventory.
Who can say?
Thanks to the positive response from folks, I'm sharing the blueprint code for my Rustic Draenei house - AgTJHNR4d3FOfom5KmHWuTgh
Budget:
Special items:
As someone else noted: different plots have different base orientations. On my plot, the entrance faces the cornerstone, but it may default to another direction on your plot.
With the Embroidered Embaari Tent being replaced updated, I had to change my exterior build.
On the upside, the new version looks more unified - Curved Elven Tables all over! On the downside, the old Embaari tents did a lot of heavy lifting and gave me more budget for landscaping. But it's fixed for now. /whew
And now key elements of my rustic draenei home exterior build and an interior fireplace are broken. It's not just that they were sized back to 100%. The asset itself is completely different.
Has anyone else noticed subtle changes like this? I only caught this because it's a prominent feature of my house. I haven't explored the nooks and crannies of my house to see if any other asset was changed.
Share any changes you find below!
This is the study and bedroom for my Alliance draenei mage, Naerduwel. He has a penchant for purple, so the lighting had to reinforce that. My headcanon is that the draenei are so crystal focused that crystals pop up in their environment like mushrooms in a forest. Thus small pink crystals appear in the corners of the room all on their own. It's pretty, as long as you don't care that they're indicators of background extradimensional radiation saturating and warping the space.
This build has been stable for a number of months while I worked on the rest of my house. But once 12.1 goes live and blueprints prove to be stable :: ahem :: this room will be redone. Bigger, better, more Exodar-esque!
For a while, I've wanted to give my Alliance house exterior a draenei theme. I tried to make a mini Exodar (HA), but then I stumbled across the smaller draenei houses from Shadowmoon Valley, Talador, and even Nagrand on Draenor (see the last photo). Using wood, glass, and cobblestone, I came up with this rustic draenei house, like an exile trying to replicate simple Draenor glories with local Azerothian materials.
The simple human house with a gabled roof is hidden inside Shadowmoon Greenhouses, Shadowmoon Open Sheds, and Embroidered Embaari Tents. Elegant Curved Tables form the arches. To mimic stained glass, I placed Slate Cobblestones - dyed either Zephras Blue, Netherstorm Fuschia, or left plain - under the greenhouse glass and added a handful of Decorative Dornogal Opals of varying sizes for accents. A couple of upside-down Sturdy Void Elf Barricades on the back and left side add foundational flair. Any leftover decor points went into landscaping.
Many, many thanks to Illestra for her YT videos on draenei themes and kitbashing ideas, and for being encouraging.
Recently, I wondered about ways to encourage players to find Housing, the neighborhoods, and endeavors more engaging. I have a lot, but the main theme is to have more things occur outside the village center. Too much is located in those small areas, whereas there are plenty of interesting spots to explore at Founder's Point or Razorwind Shores.
For example...
Shopping: Have random vendors pop up across the neighborhood at the spots where stalls are set up but no one can buy anything. Buy local!
Events: Hold events at the stage area at Founder's Point and seaside firepit at Razorwind Shores. Here are ideas I've lifted from other zones and events:
Weeklong seasonal events:
Spring:
Summer: Have a beach week on the coast of either island.
Autumn:
Winter:
New achievements to encourage repeat tasks:
One time achievements:
And two last random ideas that didn't fit anywhere else:
