2015 Nissan Rogue Select transmission
I just bought a 2015 nissan rogue select 2 weeks ago. I bought it as is, no warranty.
Driving home from a 1.5 hr drive, the car randomly slowed down, the check engine light came on, and it would not accelerate. We had it towed to the mechanic who said it was showing up as a P0744 torque converter code. He said I may need a new transmission. He tried draining and refilling the transmission fluid first and cleared the code. Since then, ive driven probably around 100 miles and the check engine light has not come back on. No issues with acceleration.
The mechanic also gave me a print out of the code that came up when he was diagnosing it, and it looks like a code for Torque Converter p0744 and p1740 SLCT Solenoid had also come up in the past, I'm assuming with the previous owner or maybe even the dealership I bought it from.
Given what I've read online, the transmission is on its way out. Does anyone have any words of encouragement or experiences of their own in which they had a similar code pop up and their transmission ended up lasting a while still? Or should I accept the fact I'm probably screwed?
Edit, mileage was around 100,100 when purchased.
