The most unrealistic part of Scott Pilgrim…
is not the video game-like fights or the fact that so many girls like Scott, it’s the fact that Scott is able to maintain a consistent friend group of 20-somethings in a big city like Toronto.
I’m rereading the comics again now that I turned 23, and I’m the same age as Scott, and that’s my biggest takeaway. As a post-grad forced to live with their parents for monetary reasons, I’m super jealous of Scott for this reason. I wish it was easier to maintain friends in your 20s.
