Buy current Polestar 2 in my preferred spec — or wait for the all-new model coming in spring?

Hey everyone, looking for some outside perspectives on this decision.

I've been eyeing the Polestar 2 for a while and have found a configuration I really like. However, I know the fully redesigned next-gen model is expected sometime in spring/early 2027. Now I'm stuck in the classic "buy now vs. wait" dilemma.
Some background: I actually test drove the Polestar 4, but it's just too big for my taste — and honestly, I really disliked the fully display-based controls. I've heard Polestar has said they'll bring back physical buttons on future models, but it's unclear whether that will already apply to the new P2 or not.

A few things that make this tricky for me:

- I'd be charging at home ~90% of the time, so charging network coverage isn't a huge factor

- My current Audi will cost me around €2,000 this year in running costs (service, winter tyres, etc.) — so waiting isn't free

- On top of that, if I sell my Audi now I'd likely get around €2,000 more than if I wait until next year — so the total cost of waiting could be closer to €4,000

- I already have my ideal spec picked out for the current P2, and the price/value seems solid right now

My questions for you:

  1. When do you think we'll see the first real photos/specs of the new model?

  2. Is it worth waiting for a completely redesigned car, or does a new platform usually mean early production issues and software bugs?

  3. New models often come with first-year teething problems — how bad has that historically been with Polestar?

  4. Would the €2,000 running cost of keeping my current car tip the scales for you?

I'm not in a desperate rush, but I also don't want to wait just for the sake of waiting if the current P2 is genuinely a great buy right now.

What would you do? 🙏
