Looking for 2BR downtown

Checking around the university campus to the west, including all west end.
Budget up to 2.8k

Musts: 2BR, well-lit, no basement
Wants (a girl can dream): Parking, In-suite laundry, balcony, both bedrooms with a window (why is this so rare???), southern facing, gas stove

If anyone sees or has something to offer, please send it over! I am moving from a very sunny place and can’t stress how much the “well-lit” part means

Are these types of promotions on rental sites legit?

I'm moving to TO from outside the country and trying to find a place, which is proving quite difficult! On some sites (in this case rentals.ca) I see a lot of Promotional listings. I'm prone to being immediately wary of ads like this, but are these places, deals, and promotions legit and worth looking at?

Any apartment searching advice (we're looking in West End) also appreciated!

7 hr layover in Seoul - where to go? (food-centric)

Edit: seems like Seoul would be too tight, I’m still eager to leave the airport though, so if anyone has recs for doing Incheon, I’d appreciate it!

Hey guys! I'll have a 7 hour layover in Seoul during morning-afternoon, I'd love to go and get some local food. First time in Korea and I love the food.

AI has recommended me to go to the market at Mangwon-dong and eat in that area. Anyone have some other ideas? Prefer more local/less touristy vibes. I'd love to maybe see a cool site as well while I'm there.

Thanks!

Maori culture - north island in July

Hello!

I'm visiting NZ for the first time this July, and I'd love some recommendations for ways to see/learn/experience Maori culture, on the north island as I won't be going to the south.

I suppose anything ranging from museums, food, whatever really. Thanks!

A question about homemade tostadas or tortilla chips

My question is very specific to HOMEMADE CORN TORTILLAS - please do not tell me to use store-bought. I get it, it works better, that's not my question.

Everytime I've tried to make homemade corn tortillas into tostadas or tortilla chips, I get a tough or chewy result - not crispy like you want it.

What's the solution? To make a dryer masa mix? Leave tortillas out overnight to get stale? Leave them a night in the fridge? Thinner tortilla? Hotter oil?

Any insight - especially from experience - is appreciated!

Edit to add more details of my process per mod request:
I think pretty typical corn tortilla making process....
I have tried several brands of masa harina. I add and mix in warm water with a bit of salt until it feels "right" (until I can press flat without cracks on the edges). Sometimes I rest the masa balls, sometimes I continue straight to pressing and cooking tortillas. At this point I heat up oil to 375ish and fry - maybe an inch or more of oil - until it gets some color. I've also tried frying the next day (albeit, tortillas were kept in a bag, so not fully dried out.) All attempts have been meh at best.

Moving to TO - what red flags should I look for when apt searching?

I'm moving from a city where most apartments are privately owned and rented out, so I'm kind of clueless as it seems that a lot of the apartments in TO are classified as "condos" with some kind of big management company renting them out.

What kind of things should I be looking out for (in the building, apartment, contract) when looking at these apartments? What are red flags?

Also - is there a good way to find privately-owned apartments for rent that are a bit more old school, whether townhouses or smaller buildings, and not in these massive fancy high rises that I see all over the rental sites?

We're looking for a 2BR in these neighborhoods: University, Trinity Bellwoods, Annex, Little Italy, Kensington, and the surroundings

Insurance recommendations for one month, several countries, many flights

Hello!

I'm doing a big trip with many flights and a lot that could go wrong. Am looking for any good recommendations for travel insurance.

My trip will mainly be in Indonesia and New Zealand.

I have no health issues, so I have no policy requests there per se, but I will be diving (and will be buying separate insurance for it), but will have some underwater photography gear and my laptop which I want to make sure are insured.

To add to the complication - I am a US citizen, do not live in the US, but will be in the US for a few days during this trip, ending up in Canada. Getting insurance from my current country of residence is impossible since I will not be coming back here.

Thanks!

Where should we take our dive vacation? Pacific, early Aug

My friend and I, both marine biologist grad students, have a good amount of dives under our belt and are looking about a 10-12 day vacation that includes incredible diving but also nature, culture, etc. We'll be going start of August.

These are the places we thought of as possibilities, would love to hear recommendations and advice!

Ningaloo Reef, Western Aus
Raja Ampat
Komodo
One of the Pacific Islands (Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, and more)
Papua New Guinea

Would love to hear some experiences! Liveaboard recs, budgets, anything at all. Thanks!

Want something more variable than Ascend

I was liking it for a while, and I like Aria's cues, but I usually only do the first three priority workouts of the week MAYBE, and for several cycles now it's just been the same movements. I'm looking for a team that changes things up more week to week. I understand the concept of increasing weight and getting better at specific movements, but frankly I'm bored. I'd rather have interesting workouts that get me to try new things than just repeat the same thing every week.

More cardio involved too!

My grandma has chronic pain in a specific area on her back, the severity of which is up and down.

She doesn’t live in the US, but we try and bring her topical THC creams when we go visit there, which do relieve her pain, but they run out quickly and we’re scared to bring large amounts over.

I can get weed easily here and want to try and make some topical pain cream at home. Btw the weed I get is from dealers so I don’t have info on THC/CBD/strains (but they do get me high! Not as strong as the ridiculous US weed)

Has anyone had success making effective cream at home and can point me towards a recipe?
