Own router won't work!
I've been trying to use my own router (Asus XD6 Zenwifi) but just can't get it to work.
Service is fully activated and works fine with the included Zyxel router.
- The Innbox G23 ONT is connected to the WAN port on the XD6
- XD6 is in router mode, DHCP setting
- Have switched off any QoS, firewall type settings
- It gets a DHCP lease fine, with IP, gateway, DNS etc coming through
..but no matter what I do, I can't get to the internet - e.g. pinging 8.8.8.8 just won't work.
I've tried MAC spoofing (despite Hyperoptic saying it's not needed) but that doesn't help.
I've also tried connecting directly to the ONT with my Macbook but it's the same thing - I get the DHCP lease/details but can't ping anything.
I've tried resarting/resetting everything: my router, the ONT, etc. but nothing works.
Would anyone know what the issue might be? Hyperoptic tech support say it should work and nothing should be blocking it. I've run out of options on the XD6 WAN config page, and honestly don't know what else I can try.
