There is hope!
Just a message of support and hope. My daughter was diagnosed at 16. She was unable to play sports anymore along with all of the other life changes that you are all keenly aware of. As a result of having to do a lot of research and learning to be your own advocate with doctors etc she decided to become a nurse herself and vowed she would never not listen to her patients. Many of you are all too familiar with your condition and symptoms being dismissed or not taken seriously.
Here is the hope part. Besides graduating and becoming a BSRN, which by itself is amazing, we were always told there is a chance she can ‘grow out’ of POTS. Well at age 23 that day has come. She has stopped using most of her medications and is now leaning out her beta blockers. So far so good. Her heart rate is under control and she is not dizzy, or have the massive sweats she used to.
I know at times she felt like it was all hopeless , but she has broken through the other side and I wish the same for all of you.
