Does anyone question some celebrities autism diagnosis or is it just me.

I know I can’t know for certain since I’m not a professional but I still often question some celebrities autism diagnosis especially if they are self diagnosed. Elon musk is an example I really doubt he’s autistic,Neil Gaiman, Kanye west.

Does anyone find it frustrating when people get these terms mixed up

The term neurodivergent and neurodiverse, a lot of people think neurodivergent is the same as neurodiverse when they are not.

Neurodivergent means a person with a neurodevelopmental disorder/mental illness( I’m actually unsure if TBI would count)

Neurodiverse means everyone’s brains slightly different to one another so both NT and Neurodivergents are neurodiverse.

Does anyone else believe autism is actually lots of different disorders.

I sometimes wonder whether autism should have more specific labels, and what we currently call autism may actually be multiple distinct but related conditions.

It’s crazy to think that someone who is nonverbal and requires 24/7 support can receive the same diagnosis as someone who works full time, lives independently, and had no speech delays or isn’t nonverbal.

I understand that autism is described as a spectrum, but I’m tired of hearing this explanation. I believe the spectrum is too broad.

Rocco’s first day out with Albie

Got Rockleton today and he’s definitely worth it, feels very soft in my opinion.

I feel like some Neurotypical people are taking that label to seriously (which is ironic)

Maybe some neurotypical people take the label too seriously because they assume that neurotypical people never experience things like social difficulties, being distracted, forgetfulness or sensory issues. This probably leads them believing normal human experiences as signs of autism, ADHD or god knows what else.

I believe that social media creators have pathologised things everyone experiences, for example feeling nervous in an interview or feeling overstimulated in Primark.

Some people may see the word “typical” in “neurotypical” and think that it isn’t normal to be forgetful, socially awkward or disorganised unless you’re neurodivergent.

I get very anxious when I have to speak or ask for something in social situations, for example talking to a teacher or asking for something in a shop. I also get extremely anxious if my mum asks me to go to the shop for her, but if I decide myself that I want to go to the shop to buy something I like, and I’ve planned it beforehand I’m usually much less anxious.

What confuses me is that my anxiety can completely change even in the exact same social situation. Some days I can go into a shop, be around people, or speak a little without feeling that anxious at all. Other days, in the same place with the same type of people, my anxiety becomes so overwhelming that I can barely speak unless someone talks to me first.

Because of TikTok and everyone using it in a jokey not so serious way I feel like when I say it, it’s not taken seriously anymore. I get that anyone can become overstimulated but when I hear people say it they laugh it off when they are supposed to be overstimulated and stressed. It’s almost like a trend to say it especially amongst teenagers and young adults.
