So, grandma Tanaka is Mabel’s maternal grandmother, yet they share the same last name. I have a few theories. 1: Mabel has two mommies, and they chose to take Tanaka as their family name when they married or 2: Tanaka isn’t actually her government name, she just chose to go by her grandma’s last name after her grandma passed.
