Still thinking about ACL

I got into The XX in 2017. I picked up their album in a record shop because it was visually really cool. I had zero previous knowledge of them. I played a couple snippets on Spotify and was sold.

I’ve seen them twice now, most recently headlining ACL over the weekend. I got on barricade by myself and I’m still so floored. Idk what it is, but their music moves me in a way that few bands do. I’m just taken back, honestly. I love that their focus truly is the music. Their all black outfits and dark, simple stage design really pull you in.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing them live, you MUST find a way!

No bodega stands? No “no chair zones?”

These are 2 things I missed this year.

I like the bodega stands! They have everything you could need. SPF, fruits, really good brownies, ponchos, ear plugs, hats, sunglasses… so handy! I always went to the one by Amex for a brownie before the headliner. 😔. ETA: I stand corrected. My usual bodega wasn’t in its usual spot, but they ARE out there!

What happened to the “no chair zone” signs? Were they there last year? I can’t recall and it was so hot, I didn’t go into the crowd. However, this year I did venture closer to the stage was was shocked to see people sitting in lawn chairs only about 50 feet from the barricade!
