Not only did I see multiple men (and a woman) piss in the crowd this past weekend but I was right next to a couple who were sitting deep in the crowd refusing to stand up as the crowd filled in around them while waiting for Turnstile’s set.

When suddenly a drunk older man came rushing out the front of the crowd while throwing up into the collar of his shirt leaving a snail trail of vomit out the bottom of his shirt that dripped all over that couples laps & knees.

Also the mud smells like shit reeeeally bad! lol

These are 2 things I missed this year.

I like the bodega stands! They have everything you could need. SPF, fruits, really good brownies, ponchos, ear plugs, hats, sunglasses… so handy! I always went to the one by Amex for a brownie before the headliner. 😔. ETA: I stand corrected. My usual bodega wasn’t in its usual spot, but they ARE out there!

What happened to the “no chair zone” signs? Were they there last year? I can’t recall and it was so hot, I didn’t go into the crowd. However, this year I did venture closer to the stage was was shocked to see people sitting in lawn chairs only about 50 feet from the barricade!

One thing that really stood out to me at ACL this year was the amount of entitlement I saw from people, especially when it came to the crowds.
Steve Aoki at the Tito’s tent was a perfect example. It was CLEARLY packed. You could look around and see that there was barely any room to move, yet you still had younger frat bros pushing their way through the crowd, bumping into everyone, stepping on people, and acting like they were entitled to get closer. Like bro, we can all see it’s crowded 😭 If you didn’t get there early enough to get a spot, that doesn’t mean everyone else has to move out of your way so you can get closer.
I also noticed that same entitlement when it came to taking pictures. We all know it’s annoying when someone intentionally walks directly in front of your camera while you’re taking a picture. But if I’m simply standing in the background and you want a picture, you can ASK nicely. That actually happened to my friends and me—someone basically told us to move because we were in their picture. A simple “Hey, would you mind moving for a second?” would have been completely fine, and most people would probably say yes. Acting like you can just tell strangers to move because you want a picture is crazy.
And honestly, a lot of this behavior seemed to come from the younger crowd, probably around 18–21, and yeah… a good amount of them fit the stereotypical frat/sorority vibe. Sorry, not sorry. Obviously not everyone was like this, but the entitlement was definitely noticeable this year.
We’re all at the same festival. Everyone paid to be there. Have some awareness and respect for the people around you.

Wow guys what a fun weekend! A huge thank you to all of the staff for putting in all of the extra time and hard work in order to make the festival happen considering the weather conditions. I think this may have been the funnest ACL yet and all of the effort put it to make that happen for us did not go unnoticed or unappreciated, thank you all! 🫶🏼 I hope everyone gets lots of rest this week.

I cannot stress enough how you absolutely must close out your ACL weekend with Parcels into The XX. 2 of the best sets of the entire weekend, hands down (and I am a Rufus diehard- seen them 5x). If I wasn’t going out of town next weekend, I would go Sunday W2 exclusively to experience these 2 sets again.

The energy, the vibes, the music, the vocals, the love from the bands and the crowd. It truly felt like a community dance party full of nostalgia. Both were very fluid sets with little-to-no breaks- they just kept the music going and seamlessly transitioned and jammed into the next song. Camera work and minimalist production added such a specific, artistic touch to both sets too.

And let me say, I was not an avid listener of either of these bands… Planned on “stopping by” both of them to check them out, and figured I’d just be sitting on the lawn chilling, but I did not stop moving for the full 2 hours of both sets. I had actually watched The XX’s livestream of their Coachella set and honestly thought it was a little boring… But boy was I wrong! Seeing them live was an energetic experience.

Most honorable mention: XX’s cover of Take Care by Rihanna and Drake… The live piano and bass of the iconic chords. Holy SHIT!!! I think I transcended.

Please please please W2- GO!

EDIT: didn’t know that Drake’s Take Care actually sampled Jaime XX’s I’ll Take Care of You. My mistake! Was unaware as I wasn’t an avid listener.

Also, as of 1:10pm on Monday, 10/5, The XX’s set from ACL is up on PLUS Concert’s YouTube channel. I would go watch it before it gets taken down!🙈

Been to many ACLs and never felt like this the monday after. But also, probably just getting old as well. How are y'all feeling?

ok I have week 2 acl coming up and I can’t decide between seeing charli or KOL.

I’m a huge music person and KOL is one of my favorite bands ever and I love their songs, favs are supersoaker, Arizona and last mile home but all of my friends are going to charli xcx. I also love love charli and hers looks soooo sooo fun. If I went to Charli I’d get to be with all my friends seeing her, and if I went to KOL I’d have to go with this guy I used to talk to but we’re chill now but I feel like it would be awkward, plus I have to be w him all weekend next week too. I’d go alone but I’m younger so I’m not sure that’s the best choice.

Who puts on the best performance and I would enjoy most and not regret going to?? Please help me out!!

this was my first time attending and man the vibes were great, the people were kind and everyone was enjoying themselves no one really crazy or acting up at least not that i noticed :)

tbh this may be an unpopular opinion but the mud didn’t really bother me lol i was wearing some old boots from target and they were perfectly fine :p

I just wanted to say thank you to you guys for reminding me that I really do like people. It’s really easy to lose faith in humanity these days but being there last night and seeing so many positive happy people having fun and being joyful gave me a much needed reminder that people are mostly great. Anyway, thanks for giving me a boost, see y’all next weekend.

Legendary set. 9th consecutive year i’ve never seen anything like it, the mud pits were insane!
