What was Weeping Town's original name?

Weeping Town is a market town on the southern shore of Cape Wrath, is ruled by House Whitehead, and is the place where Daeron I's corpse was first brought back to the Seven Kingdoms after he was killed under a peace banner by the Dornish. The town earned its name because the of the townsfolk's reaction upon seeing Daeron's corpse. But it must have had a different name prior to earning its current one. Any thoughts?

How would you settle the successions of Arianne and Willas?

Let’s assume that Arianne arrives at Highgarden with the intent of seducing Willas into marriage, but she actually gets charmed by the crippled heir during the attempt, and the two marry because they genuinely enjoy being together despite their differences.

Let’s also assume that Mace Tyrell (and moreover Olenna) agrees to the match because he’s always wanted the best match possible for his heir (that being the daughter of another Lord Paramount or a royal match) and Arianne checks that box (the only other real options are Sansa and Myrcella). Doran reluctantly agrees (or maybe Oberyn convinces him) and decides to plan out another way of getting his revenge for Elia + her kids (seeing as he didn’t do anything with the Secret Betrothal between Arianne and Viserys until after the latter died).

But how would the question of their successions be settled?

The Reach and Dorne have different succession laws as far as we know, the Reach following male-preference primogeniture (boys before girls), while Dorne follows absolute primogeniture (firstborn child regardless of gender). There’s also the issue of whether or not Arianne would have to give up her place as Doran’s heir and future Ruling Princess of Dorne.

Personally, I’d think that Willas and Arianne would insist that Arianne shouldn’t have to give up her position as heir just because she marries Willas. Would this be an unprecedented situation by having the heirs of two Great Houses marry? Yes, and were any other king sitting on the Iron Throne, they might intervene against the marriage. But Robert is king and he might not even care, despite what Jon Arryn might say.

Going a step further, I think it’d be interesting to see an AU where Willas and Arianne have a son and come to the agreement that this son should inherit both the Reach and Dorne. It would rightly cause massive issues within the Reach, Dorne, and the wider Seven Kingdoms. It could spark a succession war. The lords of the Reach and Dorne might be split on the issue over historical rivalries, the loss of prestige in combining kingdoms, the general fact that there’s no precedent to fall back on. The entire situation would be a mess, and a safer solution would be to give the firstborn son the Reach and the secondborn child Dorne.

But if nothing else, it could prove to be an interesting inciting incident for a Willas/Arianne fic.

So, how would you handle it?

In an AU where Arianne succeeds in going to Highgarden and marrying Willas, how do you think the two of them would handle their successions?

What if the Arbor was really British?

This AU map was born from the fact that the Arbor kinda (if you squint) looks like England, and since both England and the Arbor are known for their navies, why not just take that train of thought to its logical conclusion?

Of course, the map probably isn't to scale, and the fact that most of the British Isles now being on the same latitude or lower than Dorne means the climate is radically different than its Earth equivalent. But it does have me thinking about how the world of ASOIAF would have changed if the Arbor was replaced by the British Isles, whether we're talking about a transmigration AU or simply the Arbor always being in the shape of the British Isles.

Would Aegon have conquered them too? What about during the Dance or Robert's Rebellion?

Would Guinness be invented and become Robert's favorite drink?
