NC STILL hates all teachers assistants and others at public schools.
Since the news of the budget has come out, apparently the only employees NOT getting any kind of bonus are the poor IAs and a few other groups. Custodians? YOU get $1750! State Employees? YOU get $1750! Instructional Assistants? Naaah, f off. Be happy for your 3%.
