Post Concert Failure - Line 2

What a mess. After attending the Ed Sheeran concert, I tried to get on the light rail to get back to the Eastside and failed miserably (along with lots of other people). Here were all the issues I saw:

  1. At King station, a police officer had to tell people which line/entrance to line up because the entrances going north and south had the EXACT same sign.

  2. The line wrapped around the outside of the station entrance, as the station security was trying to keep the people on the platform to a minimum. A bunch of people just walked around to the other side and cut the line. Security did not care.

  3. As they let people go into the platform, there were a mixture of people that needed to go south and east. The 6 trains going south was pretty empty. If they had a separate line for people going south they could have filled that train better.

  4. People going east got shafted. 3 train cars showed up (vs the 6 going south) were filled. Twice. Only three cars?!

  5. Security would push people further down the platform, but if the train stopped at the very end of the platform, then how are the people at the front of the line supposed to get on? The transit security did not know where the train would stop.

I ended up taking the good old fashioned bus, which was on time and had room.

TLDR; Sound Transit failed a lot of people, I really hope they get this feedback to they can get it right.

I’m never leaving Seattle

There’s nothing like Seattle summers. The sky was unreal tonight, it looked like a painting.

I went on a nighttime run in Bellevue and couldn’t stop looking at the sky. Looked like a painting!
