Jollibee opening in Bellevue
EDIT: comments are saying it says it'll be a high end jewlery store, sorry to get anyone's hopes up :((( not sure why the guy said jollibee :((
OP: I work at one of the businesses in Evergreen Village plaza, there's been an empty suite that recently started construction and today, out of curiosity, I walked by and asked what they were working on. I am so so so excited to say that they said it would be a Jollibee!!!!!! As a Filipina, I've been a bit disappointed with the filipino food options in the area (none :/) so this is so exciting for me! As far as I am aware, it hasn't been announced anywhere officially. The address for it is 1915 140th Ave NE. I would expect it to open by the end of the year, maybe even summer. Construction is expected to be completed this weekend, they said. Let me know your thoughts :))))
How Bellevue is thinking beyond the car (and who will pay for it)
seattletimes.comGood food places to watch US vs Belgium game?
Basically the title, me, my brother, and my dad want to eat at a place and watch the upcoming game, and I was thinking Paddy Coyne's because that is where we go to watch games but it might be too packed, so what are some good places to watch it at that aren't too crowded but still have some buzz.
People who set off fireworks after midnight should go strait to jail
Look I’m not a total killjoy. If you want to light up some illegal fireworks for your kids in a safe manner, whatever. But those people setting them off every 2 minutes until 3:00 am last night absolutely terrorizing my dog need to seriously reevaluate their arrogant, self-centered, irresponsible, inconsiderate existences. If you set off fireworks after about midnight you are a flaming asshole and I hope you get bedbugs.
Last nights fireworks
First time being in Bellevue for the 4th!
What Bellevue looked like in the early 20th Century Through These Stunning Historical Photos
bygonely.liveTo the two young men who called us the n-word
We were walking along the Lake Washington blvd when two guys in a white car called us the n-word. It was around 9:30 pm. We are brown, at least get your racism right you stupid f**ks.
Edit: I knowingly didn’t mention their skin colour. It was also the word with a hard ‘R’. Thank you for all the kind words. This was the first time I faced it in this area.
Kaiser insurance L&D: Providence Everett vs Overlake Bellevue
Hi everyone,
I’m due in August with Kaiser insurance and trying to decide between Providence Everett and Overlake Bellevue for Labor and Delivery. I’m currently low-risk and aiming for a natural birth.
I'd love to hear local experiences, pros/cons, or insights on the care, facility quality, and how supportive they are of natural birth preferences. Thanks in advance!
Does living with a flatmate prevents depression in Bellevue?
I work in the tech industry at Seattle (Bellevue downtown) and came here during COVID. At that time, I couldn't get any flatmate and thus, I started living alone in a small studio. Also, is it better to live far from office if flatmate wants and then commute daily?
I came here in Jan 2022 and it was very difficult to find flatmate at that time

21F trying to meet new people
Hi! I am a 21F who has lived in Bellevue for almost 2 years. My SO and I moved here for work while we attend Bellevue College, and I realized I haven't had the chance to build a social circle. With my break from school, I'd love to meet some new people!
A bit about me:
- I am working towards becoming a dental hygienist and have really enjoyed my science prerequisites.
- I enjoy being active (trying to get back into it after focusing on school).
- I like to read and analyze books (currently reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelley).
- I love going to the Marymoor dog park (my dog loves to roughhouse).
- I am also down for a coffee, good food, or a cocktail.
If anyone thinks we'd get along, wants to meet up, or knows any interesting (free/cheap) events, please let me know!
Lice season is ramping up again — a few free tips from a local lice-removal business
Hi r/BellevueWA — full disclosure up front, we run a lice treatment business (Lice Charmers), so take this as coming from someone with a commercial interest. Mods, if this isn't allowed, no worries — please remove.
Posting because we're heading into the part of the year when calls pick up (summer camps, then back-to-school in the fall), and every year we talk to parents who spent weeks and a lot of money on stuff that didn't work. So, some genuinely free advice, no strings:
- Nits ≠ active lice. Finding eggs (nits) alone doesn't always mean an active infestation. Live, moving lice are the sign to treat. A lot of panic (and unnecessary re-treatment) comes from misreading old nits.
- Most drugstore products don't kill eggs. They target live lice, not all nits — which is why timing and thorough combing matter, and why people often think a treatment "failed" when they just missed the egg stage. If you use one, plan a second pass around day 9–10.
- Combing with oil is the unglamorous part that actually works. A good metal nit comb on wet, conditioned hair, small sections, every few days for a couple weeks. Tedious but effective.
- Check the whole household the same day. It spreads fast; treating one kid while missing a sibling restarts the cycle.
- You usually don't need to fumigate your house. Lice die within a day or two off a human head. Wash recently-used bedding/hats in hot water; skip the chemical bombing of every soft surface.
Happy to answer general lice questions in the comments for free — no pitch. If anyone wants professional help there are several options in the area including us, but honestly a patient parent with a good comb can often handle a mild case at home.
Hope this saves someone a stressful week.

travelandleisure.comWhat do you need from local news?
Hi there, I'm Alex Rochester, KUOW's Digital Community Engagement Producer. My job is to talk with the KUOW audience and Puget Sound region residents about their local news needs.
Our midday broadcast show and podcast Soundside is a newsmagazine radio show that keeps you up to date on local issues and then dives deep to build understanding. The team are currently asking listeners and non-listeners for their hopes, dreams and constructive critiques of the show. Anyone who cares about local news is welcome to participate!
Please fill in this survey or share your answers to the following questions in the comments.
If you're a listener, what do you want more or less of in the show?
If you're not a listener, what would it have to feature to feel worth your time?
Do you want more stories that focus on politics, community-solutions, outside of Seattle, arts & culture, and/or panel discussions with multiple perspectives? Do you want less of something?
The team asked for listeners to weigh in because they take feedback very seriously, so the more detailed your thoughts the more it will help them understand how best to serve the public with the news they need.
Best places to watch fireworks ??
Where are the best places to watch fireworks ? Would love somewhere traffic/ parking isn’t insane.
How safe and stable do Bellevue and Issaquah feel for families today?
My family and I are from Japan and are considering moving to either Bellevue or Issaquah with our young child, and I’d really appreciate hearing from people who currently live there (or have within the last couple of years).
From a day-to-day perspective, how safe and stable do you honestly feel living there?
The specific areas we’re considering are:
Bellevue: near Downtown Park.
Issaquah: Gilman area
I’m especially interested in things like:
Whether you feel comfortable walking with young children during the day or evening.
Whether homelessness, drug use, theft, or crime have affected your daily life in any meaningful way.
Whether you’ve changed your routines because of safety concerns.
Whether you feel the area has improved, stayed about the same, or gotten worse over the past few years.
I’m looking for honest firsthand experiences—positive or negative—not trying to confirm any particular opinion. Thank you!
*edited to add specific areas we’re interested in
Almost got scammed for $225 plus, renting a house in Bellevue, WA.
I almost paid $225 in "application fees" for a rental in Bellevue before a few simple questions made the whole story fall apart.
I figured I'd spend a little more AI time (and yes, probably a few more drops of nature's water 😅) organizing the conversation so others can recognize the warning signs before sending money.
The screenshots are in chronological order. I also like the red flag little icons that it gives, lol.
Hopefully this helps someone else avoid becoming their next victim.
Stay safe out there, and always verify before you pay.

Unfortunately the light rail is bringing in crime. What can we do to keep Bellevue Safe.
