Am I overreacting? (Travel)

Hey guys, so our Cruze is supposed to take us 100 miles over a 2 hour trip to visit family next week and then take us home. I’m paranoid that something will go wrong, because the last time we went was Christmas.

Since the last trip we had a coolant leak that was supposedly fixed but it’s still leaking oil/possibly still coolant somewhere else because we still smell it and still see the smoke after it’s been running a while.

Am I over reacting by being worried and anxious about it? We’ll take back roads and the drive is fairly easy (quite a bit of “take your foot off the gas and “Cruze” haha). We just got an oil change and are going to have a full tank of gas, so I’m hoping that all will be okay?

For note: it’s a 2013 with 125k miles. Many issues other than oil leak, the most prominent being the service stabilitrak warning kicking on every five seconds

Replace Engine or Sell?

Hey all.

We have a 2013 Chevy Cruze with 125000+ miles on it. It’s in rough shape. We had it looked at and they said it honestly needs a new engine. The coolant system has been fixed but it still smells/burns coolant when running too hard or too long. It needs new wheel bearings. The engine clicks. The spark plugs need changed and the oil leaks too.

We are not in a position to buy a new car right now, and won’t be until November. Even then, we won’t have a down payment and I can’t find any $0 down cars with a $200-$300 payment that are not in a similar condition to ours.

Is it worth just replacing the engine? Will that extend the life at all? Because I’m willing to get a loan for a few thousand just to at least fix it up and maybe get a couple more years out of her… but if that’s not worth it then maybe selling for parts and using that for a down payment would be better.

Just want opinions, since it has so many miles already.
