Hello Everyone

So I got lost on the internet + Gemini + ChatGPT , Its like half of the internet is saying that my car has Timing Chain and the other half is saying that I am wrong and it has Timing Belt, I never change anything for the past 5 years because I always assume that it has Timing Chain and there is no need for that ! but now I read on Google first page (The AI Automatic response nobody asked for) that I am wrong and it has Timing belt and I need to replace it !

Hi yall,I needed some help or advice with a problem with my 2014 Cruze.This morning the key got stuck in the ignition and would not turn on at all.So I switched the battery for a new one and it still won’t start or even crank at all.However everything inside (such as lights,radio and everything on the dashboard) do turn on (however the radio won’t turn off even after I remove the key) Anyone knows what’s wrong with it ? Or the problem ?

This is going to be very long and I apologize but so much has happened I’m gonna try to simplify as much as possible. Any advice would be great!

I have a 2012 Chevy Cruz, I bought it in April this is my first car, I know nothing about cars. everything was fine until I got an oil change things started happening. They told me my oil cap was broken, so I replaced it, as a result some oil had been sprayed. Then things were fine and about a week later “stabili track” would flash on my screen and my car would completely stop and turn off, the doors would lock, my car would be okay to turn on about a minute later and start driving again. I brought it to the shop, they said there was nothing wrong with it. I drove it off the lot, then the second I stopped the car white smoke started coming out from under my hood and liquid came out from the bottom of my car. I brought it to the same shop and my coolant hose had broken, and I needed a new thermostat, those two things were replaced, I drove it off the lot things were okay for a bit until it seemed like my engine was overheating, it would pop up something on my screen around the lines of the engine was overheating so the ac would shut off, then I got a check engine light. Brought it back to the same shop, they put a defective thermostat in so they replaced it, I drove it off the lot and the stabili track started popping on my screen again, it looked like the inside was smoking, but I think this was from oil residue, and after a few hours of the car being off the engine still felt hot. My boyfriend’s mom had tried to start the car 4 times, it wouldn’t make a clicking sound when she turned it. I just brought it to a different shop, they said they drove it around and nothing happened and that there was no problem besides a possible miscommunication. My mom thinks it could possible be something with the key. I’m honestly not sure what it could be at this point, there is obviously a problem, if anyone has advice on what to do with it or what it possibly could be, thank you for your time sorry this was so long.

I recently had my belt, tensioner and alternator die on me (already replaced) then the car had some extreme hesitation issues so I used some fuel injector cleaner and so far its better with the hesitation but now it makes a whooshing almost shhhhing noise. Im certain its something with the turbo and i recently learned the hesitation is likely cuz I need new spark plugs, but I dont know anything about cars and this sub has been an excellent resource in the past. She's 1.4L gas hatchback, never had any problems till the belt slipped, 114k miles, just about everything is stock except what I listed above, filters, breaks, tires, all the basic maintenance stuff. Im just hoping the car can be saved. That thing has been through hell and back with me.

Edit: never once has the car thrown a code or flashed a dash light. Hence why I have no clue. Not even when the belt failed. Btw, i had to limp the car home (about 3-5 miles) with the failed belt which is why the alternator died. Im afraid it had a ripple effect.

Car wouldn't start this morning. I have a 2105 model. When I turned the key I got a single click. Lights all work and radio. I got a code P0004 from my OBD2 scanner. I got the car to start randomly luckily to read the code. Has any had this code with the 2105. How much trouble am I in? I just had the ac compressor changed and sparks plugs and coils and head gasket were changed too.

I have a 2014 Cruze Eco with 128k miles. I came out to go to work this am and it felt like Christmas with all the dash lights🫪. It said service stabilitrak, service traction control and to service steering wheel. I put it in reverse and it shuddered hard. I freaking noped outta that quick wtf!! 🤬. So I grabbed my handy dandy reader and read the codes. It said lost communication with TCM.

I quickly freaked out cuz got to go to work. Then I freaked out cuz repairs right now are not in the budget.

So I quickly googled and it was suggested to change the tcm fuse and negative battery cable. It said 90+% of the time it's either of those 2 things. So my dad and I(47F) changed both.

No change. Still showing those same messages and code. Still being a bitch and shuddering at the audacity that I have to go to work. I have a tow set for tomorrow and borrowed my mom's car. She don't need it right now since she broke her leg. But she still gave me the evil eye.

Hi all, hoping to maybe figure out or know if anyone has had the same issue as to why my 2014 Chevy Cruze is only blowing cold when it’s been under shade or when it hasn’t been so hot.

We live in Phx, Az so now in the summer its getting to 115 degrees, on the cooler days when it doesn’t exceed 100 my car A/C is blowing perfectly fine and cold but the days I have to park on the top of a parking garage for school it will continuously just blow warm air. Google says it may be my HVAC pressure transducer maybe falsely reading the temperature and shutting off the A/C compressor. Is the sensor something I can check myself and replace easily?

Any ideas of what to check for or tips would be helpful 🙏

Curious about cabin air filters. What are the best ones also do they make reusable ones that you can just rinse out and dry? Took mine out and I need one replaced you could tell a huge difference in air flow
