posting this because i am genuinely pissed at no freeze enemies its annoying how many of them there are and how they make freezing towers almost pointless to bring

the freeze status effect should be reworked into chill being the base main effect for freezing towers, with freeze being something that takes longer to trigger, but lasting way longer. what i would say is give each enemy their own unique Freeze HP (or if the developers are lazy which i know they are, make the freeze hp scale with regular hp, with higher hp meaning higher freeze hp) along with freezing towers gaining a new Freeze Damage which is separate from regular damage. enemies are still slowed down until freeze

for example lets say a max level freezer does 50 Freeze DPS and he has to freeze a fallen shield with 10k freeze hp, it would take him quite a while to actually freeze the shield, so high investment into freezing towers is encouraged. another example is sledger doing 200 freeze dps that would take him less time but wouldnt overshadow freezer because of placement limit

freeze hp on enemies would work this way: freeze hp is displayed above enemies regular health, each enemy has a value for it, which varies if the enemy is a big slow high health threat meaning higher freeze hp, or if its a fast and shorter enemy meaning less freeze hp. about major bosses im not sure if this should work against them but honestly it'd be so funny to see it they would definitely need huge amounts of freeze hp

how each freezing tower is affected by this:

freezer: previous things said should make it clear enough, freeze grenade is changed to deal high amounts of aoe freeze damage rather than instantly freezing enemies, oh yeah and make it so the grenaded is aimable too like saboteur's

cryomancer: i propose changing it into a 1 placement tower, however much more expensive and deals way more freeze damage, however being unable to actually freeze enemies, forcing you to combo it with other towers

sledger: not that many changes i would make because freeze immunity is the only thing holding this guy back, but he would still be the heavy hitter aoe freeze tower, his icebreaker passive would benefit alot from this entire freeze rework

frost blaster: stays the same. literally do not change this guy. can he please be viable for longer than 3 months before falling off

snowballer: preferrably a high amount of freeze damage so it isnt overshadowed by freezer

elementalist: i know she is getting rebalanced soon so id want her to be the costly freeze single target dps tower that requires some micro with ice turrets. it shouldnt be the best option to freeze enemies though, and should require towers like freezer to make it work

freeze jester: i wouldnt change this that much because it is clearly not the best freezing option (it doesnt even freeze lol) just make it so it can only deal half an enemies freeze hp but still slows them down

since the shock and awe update shotgunner transitioned from being an early game aoe tower with a similar role to gladiator and brawler to being more of a mid to late game spammable dps option and being actually really good at that, he absolutely shreds late game for really cheap

right now he CAN be used as an early game tower its just that, he has a terrible spread on levels 0 and 1, which is 2.5x higher than it is at level 2 (lvl 0 and 1 have 100 spread, meanwhile lvl 2 has 40 spread, and if you dont know what spread means its how much its pellets spread out from the shotgunner

i dont even know if this is intentional or not knowing shotgunner is not supposed to be an early game tower it may be but its just weird making the spread so bad at these levels in specific. i think people would use it more if it was like 50-60 spread and he wouldnt outclass towers like assassin in terms of early game because he costs $800 to place down

i also think the tower should stay consistent throughout all its levels
