First Timer Here: Driving from Seattle to Puyallup (and Puyallup to Seattle). What’s the best time to leave either city to avoid the “hell traffic” everyone keeps warning me about? Also, what’s the best route to take?

Any insight or help is appreciated!! Whenever I ask friends who live in the area, they just laugh and say, “Good luck with that.” 😂
Is traffic really that unpredictable, or are there certain times/routes that can make the commute a little less painful? I’m brand new to the area and Still figuring out which way is up around here. 🙃
so I’ll take any tips, tricks, or local wisdom you’ve got!
TIA! 😊
