NCCU faced defending champion Hampton in a decisive, winner-take-all game three. In the final ultimate challenge (lightning round), NCCU's team had to give nine correct answers to take the win. With this win, NCCU captured its first national championship in 36 years of competition, and becoming only the third all-woman team to win it all!
