It'll be an interesting pitching shuffle to watch for the vacant 5th starter slot innings & more...

With Keller on the IL and Ashcraft already past his 2026 limit...

We'll see what the young guns can do for the remainder of the season. It'll be good for them moving forward.

All of Santana's post Caballero incident statements indicate - NOT in a good head space, let alone his on the mound woes dragging the team down.

D-bag or not, Caballero is correct - he's winning if he can get in the pitcher's head and throw them off.

Santana has history of letting things get under his skin to the point of effecting his actions and on field performance. His post incident statements aren't at all encouraging. He's not all - in.

What he has done is road grade a path for his exit from PGH....and for the Bucs to bring in a backend change / upgrade.

He'll not have any real trade value. Maybe just a side add in a potential deal.....which would amount to a favor for the Pirates at this point. Or DFA him.

Bucs now 1 game out of WC. Yes, got a ways to go but it's something to play for the rest of the way. Let's sweep this double header...

Pitching was awesome game 1. Offense hasn't missed a beat with every day players injured.

Bucs are making a case for major pitching acquisition(s), and loaded with the talent to trade....so much so, the team won't have room to play everyone once Horwitz, KG, Cruz return.

Hyped where the Bucs sit at the break

3 games over .500.

Swept MIL.

Skenes on 2 game win streak.

2.5 out of WC, 1.5 behind STL.

17 - 12 vs NL Central, 27 left.

Noone trailing in WC is a threat.

Favorable 2nd half schedule.

Offense can score on anyone.

KG, Cruz, Horwitz, Endy return.

Dotel returns.

Bubba improving.

Slight bullpen improvement.

If the Bucs can bring in a closer... I believe they can make some real noise...

Love to see Kenley Jansen or Ardolis Chapman in PGH. Both could be had.

KG batting 1st or 2nd... he's shown he's ready, and the Bucs are dangerous with him there.

1st - to - 3rds were one of the biggest areas needing improvement coming into this season.... and Griffin's ability is there for all to see. He's already a key contributor in all phases, but game wrecking on the base paths.

Stick with him at the top awhile. The future is now.
