Adaptive Cruise Limitations

I was recently following a white minivan in the rain with the adaptive cruise on. All of a sudden it started down pouring really hard and the car appeared to lose sight of the minivan as it began to speed up to get up to my set speed. I cancelled and did not reengage until the rain subsided.

Locking the car while leaving it on?

I left my car on to top up the 12v battery and found no way to lock it. If I hit the lock button the car locks and unlocks. If I manually close the lock then it unlocks itself. I tried locking the car with the key, but that only locked the driver door. I could manually lock the back doors, but when I did this to the front passenger door it then unlocked the driver door again. I suppose I could lock the doors with the window open, climb out the window and push the window close button, but that seems like a bad idea. Anyone know of a way to lock the car while it’s on? Key fob also doesn’t lock it.

Got slightly farther on the Subaru Software Update site

I loaded my car’s info and for the first time the file loaded to 100% and then gave me a requesting update file message. Then I got an error. Previously I only got the message that I had the latest multimedia software. So maybe the 2222 update will be available to self-install someday?
