What should I pay attention to on a test drive?

Hey everyone, I've got two test drives coming up this week, an hour with the X and an hour with the 7x.

I don't have much EV experience (driven less than 5 hours in an EV I'd estimate), and the only other EVs I have driven are:

  • Tesla Model Y
  • Polestar 2 (Long Range Dual Motor)

I like the look of the 7x, but want to maximise my time and make sure it's the car for me before plonking down $70k.

I'm hoping I can take the test drives solo, but haven't checked that with the dealership (Zeekr Adelaide).

I plan to test:

  • CarPlay
  • Speakers
  • Cruise control, including lane keep assist
  • Acceleration (I'm testing an X AWD but just the long range 7x, want to make sure the single motor is enough for me)
  • Heating, cooling, seat ventilation, massage function

Is there anything else that you think is important to check out on these cars?

Quarterly PAYG bill due, but it's more than I'll owe after I file my annual return

Hey,

I've got a question that I should probably just call the ATO over, but given they'd be getting absolutely slammed at the moment I thought I'd try here first.

I have 2 income streams, my own business and I'm also a regular part-time employee.

I have my April-June PAYG notice to pay, due in August, and also my annual return to file.

The issue is the amount owing in PAYG is much more than I owe in actuality, as I have more deductions and also super contributions than the year prior.

Do I need to pay this large PAYG bill and get it refunded when I pay my annual return? Or can I file the annual and it'll sort out the PAYG?
