I've got a Raspberry Pi 3B connected to my TV, and have a DVD drive and a hard disk with some movies attached. Kodi is able to function, but video playback (even with just 480p DVDs) is quite choppy. I know that the Raspberry Pi has some hardware accelerated video decoding (for MPEG-2 and H.264) that should speed things up, but I don't know how to enable it. The Pi is running Void Linux, since I've found it to boot extremely fast, and it has very up to date packages.

I am a saxophone and clarinet player who just picked up the oboe. I am really struggling with the resistance and amount of force required to get a sound out of the instrument. My embouchure feels fine, but after a minute of playing, the buildup of pressure causes my throat to hurt and feel like it's about to explode. I've checked my posture, and I try to relax and open my throat as much as possible, but nothing seems to lessen the pain in my neck. How do you guys deal with this?

I play the saxophone and clarinet professionally and am trying to learn the oboe. I'm currently playing on a Yamaha OB-241 and just bought a Jones Artist medium-soft reed. I will start using handmade reeds once I get more experience with the instrument. The reed is quite responsive, however when I crow it (with my mouth on the thread part), I get an A instead of a C, and on the oboe, every note starting with middle E♭ and higher comes out a semitone flat unless I really push it and play extremely loudly.
