I installed Kodi on my new Thomson 55MG7C15 smart TV with the intention to watch my film/series collection that is hosted on a local OpenBSD server.

Unfortunately, Kodi seems unable to connect to my server. I have first tried to connect via SFTP (add-on), then via NFS (natively supported), with the same error : Unable to connect : “The connection to the network location couldn't be established This could be due to the network not being connected. Would you like to add it anyway?” Yes/No.

The only reason I can think of for this is that I would not use an address of the correct format. What else could it be ? And how can I be sure that the address I enter is in the correct format for either SFTP or NFS ?

I only see the MAME emulator one and that one has me run setup config and I don’t know how to do that. I click triangle and see a bunch of options about building databases but they all give me an error message to check logs. I also wouldn’t be sure where to get games or if it will have them for me to download when I get past this issue.

Personally I wouldn’t mind getting other emulators. I already got protoeden for Switch but it’s asking for prod keys which I believe I got the right one off GitHub but I’m not sure where to actually put it specifically in the folder once downloaded.

I’m beginning to feel not smart enough to jailbreak lol, but if anyone can either give me a step by step or point me towards a super good tutorial for anything that would be great. I tried looking online but must not be looking in the right places.

the official plugin for Google drive by cguZZman is having Authorization issues and hasn't been updated for the last 2 years. Suggest me some alternative ways to use google drive in kodi.

I got a LG OLED TV and installed Kodi v22 on it. Mostly seems quite fine, but the default skin has a rendering issue, white boxes as you can see in the picture.

Is it a HW limitation of the TV that it is not capable enough to render the UI properly?
