Can you explain why I’m getting multiple episodes when I select a specific episode?

I recently ripped boxed sets of MacGyver - the original 1980's MacGyver - and put them on my NAS for Kodi to pick up. Sadly, Kodi is confused and is applying metadata from the 2016 MacGyver to all of my 1980's MacGyver episodes. Is there an easy way to correct this, to have it remove all the metadata and apply the correct show to the files?
Can anyone tell me why Kodi's folder size seems to vary so much? I'm getting from 1.5 Gb to 2.4 Gb which seems to be excessive.
I've got a Raspberry Pi 3B connected to my TV, and have a DVD drive and a hard disk with some movies attached. Kodi is able to function, but video playback (even with just 480p DVDs) is quite choppy. I know that the Raspberry Pi has some hardware accelerated video decoding (for MPEG-2 and H.264) that should speed things up, but I don't know how to enable it. The Pi is running Void Linux, since I've found it to boot extremely fast, and it has very up to date packages.
i am getting mixed results, google ai says the series s cannot (even) handle .iso dvd videos. whilst people's posts on certain sites mention .iso dvd playback on the 360 being without stuttering or any problems at all. ?? i plan to rip a huge collection to .iso on a external harddrive and playback via usb connection to the series s.
Hi all,
searched, tried, dove deep.. but to get my own png logo on the screen during video playback seems impossible nowadays?
The VideoFullScreen.xml should be the go to xml if I'm not mistaking.
But tutorials, A.I. inquiries all come up with obsolete/not working info.
A long time ago (during the XBMC X-Box days) I was a skin developer so I should know a thing or two 😉 but I guess that knowledge is all useless now. Looking at the xml's and the complexity these days I don't think I see the big picture anymore. (getting old is not fun)
Is there someone who has a WORKING way of overlaying my png during playback?
Please don't point me to another unchecked/obsolete tutorial..
Thanks a bunch!
(Kodi 21.3)
i have a library of over 400-500 movies on dvd and b-ray which i have converted to .mkv and .mp4s. but i would rerip them to .iso and then convert them all .chd, if the .chd format could be used to read .isos of video discs for display in kodi. (mainly because of the quality preserved, and the menus, subs, all the extras & stuff which came on dvds and brdiscs)
i know it can read .iso but the format is not compressed like .chd. it would otherwise take to much room on my drive(s).
Scraping using TMDB stopped working, so I adjusted to the new python. But now TMDB TV Show scraping isn't working, and movie scraping isn't working reliably.
Anyone else? Any fix?
Yes, file names are correct. Yes, years are correct. Yes, folders are accessible. Can navigate to the smb path through Kodi to watch. Yes, file folders are mapped with the correct content type. Been doing this for many years.
Log says "error general unable to lookup host 'NAS'", but 'NAS' is fully navigable, and the file paths are displayed during the scan. All smb versions accepted.
Can't export the log for everyone to view every line. I'm on a firestick and not trying to set up some micro-USB contraption to export the *.log. Sorry if that breaks the rules here. I'm just looking for anyone with the same issue. Don't delete this just because mods don't feel like dealing with it. Just don't look if you haven't experienced the same and overcome it.
Edit: I can also navigate directly to the file and successfully scan to the library.
Edit 2: Resolved by assigning a reserved IP to the host 'NAS' in my router. For some reason the scraper doesn't use Kodi's local DNS info.
Hello there, I use Kodi on multiple devices using a synology as a source. I often delete files, but the update on startup option only add new things, it doesn't clean up unavailable files. I tried using library watchdog but it just doesn't work. Is there any way to automatize a library cleanup after the update on startup ?
Hello all,
I've been wanting to learn about making NFO's for my library for sometime. I've always relied on scrapers, which has worked fine, but on a few rare occasions, a show has been modified on TMDb after I scrape. So when I've needed to rescrape on different device, there might be little differences. Its not a massive deal, but I'd just like my library to be recognized the same way consistently. NFO's will accomplish this, correct?
What exactly do I need to do to get the NFO's, what's the general approach to having NFO's rather then relying on scraping? Do they do an initial scrape, then the NFO is created? Is there a setting in Kodi to use NFO's instead of the scraper?
Any help is very much appreciated!
Just re setup kodi and I was watching invincible season 4 ( I know not the best test for sound) but it sounded like the show lacked bass and just sounded flat on kodi, I switched back to strwmio and it sounded so much better, I am running a denon x1800h, 3.1 fyne 501 and a decent sub.
Any idea why the audio is sounding so much different between kodi and stremio?
Hey guys,
I have an Intel NUC running LibreElec. I recently upgraded my setup, now having a much nicer tv + sound.
Looking for some recommendations on how to get some local game streaming set up in Kodi so I can stream games from my PC. What's the best way to go about this?
I'm open to all suggestions, including other OS. I am somewhat technical and have linux experience (it's my preference actually).
Ideally, I want an easy way to swap between local media streaming and game streaming.
Since the last update of Kodi Piers ,yesterday or the day before, my kodi is no longer showing video or audio when attempting to play any HEVC file. Black screen , but the subtitles and information shown at the bottom are all correct (that's how I know it is actually playing the right video). H264 works fine. Like I said PiersA3 on linux cinnimint 22.3. Is this another pipewire problem? Just thought I would let you know.
Hey everyone,
I just got the UGOOS AM9 Pro and I’m looking for the best microSD card to boot CoreELEC from.
Any recommendations for something reliable and fast? Mainly looking for good stability and boot performance.
Would really appreciate your suggestions 😊
Thanks!
Hi, I’m after some help please! I cannot get atmos out of the shield through earc into my arc. I’ve tried my uhd player with the same cable/input etc and it’s showing up on Sonos app as atmos. When playing some rips through its usb port it’s also showing atmos. The same rips playing on the shield using maven kodi come up as dolby digital plus 2.0. I’ve tried passthrough and fiddled with setting but I cannot get atmos! Anyone have any ideas? I don’t want to use the usb on the disc player is it won’t display Dolby vision. Many thanks
Lets finally admit it, the api is always down... it has come to a fact that we cant even change our password.. you need vip to change password.
Everyone seems to be switching to a different alternative.
Is there any way of changing the app icon in the middle of the remote control part of the IOS App?
Hi, I'm using kodi with the jellyfin addon and the skip intro plugin on the server to define the intro and outro media segments. I'm using a plugin called jellyskip to skip the intro and outro but there seems to be a conflict with a built in intro skipping function in kodi, so is there a way to disable it ?
