What's current treatment if you are too afraid to fly?

Relative in the uk was supposed to come visit us in Australia in April but he was too worried about the war which was worse at the time with ongoing attacks on uae.

He first moved his flight a couple of days due to emirates not running full services then decided he would rather not come so moved to June. They apparently charged him around 100 pounds for this change.

He is still a little nervous and I fear he might still be too afraid to fly. Are they still doing on demand refunds do you know?

Obviously you can use a couple of days leave for death in family I think there may be even a special leave classification for it but what about taking 10 days if a family member dies in Europe. I never take a sick day lucky with health and just work from home with colds. Single so no kids to have sick days for. I have a huge personal leave balance.

Can I use it for this purpose to go to help plan a funeral take care of arrangements etc. The flight alone is nearly 3 days so it would have to be a longer period.

I have been reading the Enterprise agreement but it is not clear to me
