I have never seen no oasis on a map before?

My friend and I were just playing and I hit the oasis desert day 2. I'm thinking, this is sweet, but as explore I realize no oasis exists. In my experience (nothing crazy, but about 500 hours played) I have never seen more desert biomes. It seems to be locked at 1 oasis and 1 dragonfly desert. Has anyone seen this before? Seems strange to me.

Guitar beginner seeking advice

Alright, cards on the table. I am totally new to the guitar and I'm posting this from a place of complete ignorance. I am 41 years old now. I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar and haven't due to life, jobs, other goals, and prioritizng other hobbies. I'm a linux sysadmin and very detail oriented. I decided now is the time for me to learn guitar.

I bought this guitar after some research (ESP LTD EC-1000ET):

Bands I enjoy listening to: Kyuss, Slomosa, Queens of the Stone age, Flaming Lips, Duster, Mars Volta, Sparklehorse (especially dark night of the soul album), etc.

My Request to my Luthier, again after research: 11-56 strings (people tell me it doesnt matter that much, idk), Drop C seems to be the correct tuning for the music i want to play, Low Action (1.2mm), adjust pickup height to account for new tuning and strings, Intonate the guitar for drop C. I know it probably seems dumb to be so specific when i am so new, but if i need to change it I can, my luthier does adjustments for free for a month so we have time.

I wanted to give as much information as I possibly could before I asked the following questions:

  1. I am researching music theory, but I'm worried if I try to adopt any individuals particular way I'm just going to sound like them when I play?

  2. I have an evertune bridge which seems quite difficult to tune and I'm a little nervous for when I need to replace it. I've heard it retains its tune for the life of the strings but I don't listen to the vacuum salesman on the quality of the vacuum if you know what i mean.

  3. I am generally good at conceptual learning but my process is to learn everything there is to know about something and when I know all of the pieces, then start building. It doesn't seem like I can do that with music (sorta). Any advice?

Thanks everybody
