Something BIG

Hi All, I am new here. However, near beginning 2026 I recall a post on my feed from this sub discussing (I think, along the lines of) this year's forecast.

Please forgive my memory, what I recall is that something BIG was predicted to occur around the 4th of July. And not something positive. More catastrophic - maybe not so dramatic but it was definitely something, well, bad.

Does anyone have more info? I know this is pretty vague, just hoping someone may have insight. This year has been intense around the world. Nightmares, from man made to natural. I am scared of something worse.

Thanks in advance. Sending positive vibes and hugs out into the universe.

Realistically, how fast does mold from moisture develop? Info below.

Hi All,

I live in a side-by-side townhome in the midwest, USA. It is a rainy/stormy atmosphere this time of year. And very humid. My neighbor (adjoining wall) has had the windows consistently open for the last month. It has been raining through the night and into the morning. Windows open. He stops by maybe once per week, though doesn't seem to be "living" here. Windows open, consistently.

My question, how likely is he to develop mold? And then, how likely is it to spread to my unit? I am unsure of materials though this was built in the 80's, siding has been replaced within the last <10 yrs. I am fairly certain his windows are laminate framing, and my unti is probably within 15 feet of his open windows. We are both homeowners, with a very out of touch HOA.

TIA.

Am I overreacting/exaggerating the problem?

I live in a six unit side-by-side townhouse. We're such a small community that our HOA is very... the opposite of hands-on, whatever that word is. I hesitate to say negligent, but leaning that way. The bi-laws haven't been updated in 40+ years. My adjoining neighbor(and home owner) is barely home. Stops by once per week, maybe. For the last month his windows have been left open, rain, storm, shine. I remember when I lived in an apartment, within the lease there was mention of closing windows during wet weather, as well as maintaining certain temperature within your unit during winter months, things like that. My concern is, eventually my neighbor is going to have mold problems, if he doesn't already. Because we share a wall, I will then have mold problems. We're in the Midwest, rain and storms are common.

So my question to you, hopefully kind strangers, would you mention this to your HOA? I've already had to bring issues to their attention - a tree growing way too close to the foundation risking future foundation problems, for instance. Additionally, the nieghbor himself is unapproachable, if I were to run into him, he is not someone I feel comfortable speaking to (please just trust me, he's not a good person). Considering how lackadaisical the HOA is, I feel like a nuisance for bringing things to their attention. On the other hand, this is common sense responsible homeowner stuff. TIA for your thoughts!
