Roundabout Theory
For however long it takes to build the roundabout, it takes twice as long for drivers in the area to actually understand it.
So maybe by 2030 we’ll have 145th figured out 😅🫠

Trying to make sense of my TSH levels after having them spike and learning my cousin and grandma both had hypothyroidism after age 30.
December 2024: 4.11
October 2025: 5.33
July 2026: 7.65
August 2026: 4.90
My free T4 was only measured in July 2026 and was at 0.88 and deemed normal.
Kaiser labs only flag a TSH above 5.5 so my doctor will most likely see the second result to confirm “normal” levels and delay any treatment.
I’m just curious - at what levels did you finally get diagnosed and how long did you have to wait to finally get diagnosed? I only began looking into it after October when I had my initial elevated result, but it’s just so odd to me that the optimal levels are < 2.0 while they don’t flag it until 4.5-5.5.
Mother to a 13 year stepson and a 4 year old bio son. Also my 13 year old golden lab who’s been with me since college, and 2 cats we’ve recently taken on. Both of us work full time in a HCOL and don’t often get help from family. Just recently since our youngest is getting older we’ve been able to capitalize on those a bit more.
I have some mom friends I’ve met throughout the years. A few of my friendships took a turn after having my son, but most have adapted and been supported. Nevertheless, motherhood is far more lonelier than I ever expected.
My child’s always been low sleep needs, which had been tough to relate to the mom friends I’ve made. Out of the dozen moms I’ve met and befriended, there’s only one who seems to truly get the struggle we’ve endured. She’s been my saving grace and a light in a dark time. But everyone else just makes me feel worse because anytime I mention our struggles it’s brushed off with “oh well my kids didn’t nap today but they’re doing great at bedtime” or likewise.
Really I guess I’m just looking for some solidarity. Does anyone else find motherhood overwhelmingly lonely at times? Any tips on how you’ve survived it and made it feel less isolating?
