How does the finger in rice for measuring method work?

I want to start cooking rice loose in the pot, not the rice that you have in bags you put in water, and I saw a picture for measuring the ratio water to rice when cooking it, and it showed someone sticking their finger into the rice with water and that was it. Is it actually some kind of method of measuring with your finger? How does it work?

Is reading the manga worth it if I already watched the anime?

I love the anime, I've rewatched it countless times, and I want to read the manga but I'm not sure if it's worth it now that I already know most of the plot?

Ever since I was a kid I could not be woken up. Multiple alarms I just turn off in my sleep. I got an app that makes you do math to turn it off. I learned how to disable it, I couldn't figure out how I did it when I finally woke up, I couldn't crack it awake but I managed to do it every time I was asleep. I got a really loud alarm clock, I got multiple alarms, I tried everything there is. But I can never wake up, and it's not even that I don't want to, I literally never even remember myself turning off the alarm clocks or doing anything. Multiple people have been asked by me to wake me up on multiple occasions. They all said they're never doing it again because I was insulting them and throwing shit at them and then just going back to sleep. The worst fucking part is that I don't recall ANY of it. I'm never awake at those moments, I even have videos of me being mean to people who tried to wake me up but in my memory it was just continuous sleep. I stopped asking anyone to wake me up because it doesn't work and I'm scared I'll do something horrible asleep. I sleep 10/11 hours and there is no waking me up until my body decides it's time. Is this just a quirk I'll have to accept or something to be worried about?

TL;DR nothing can wake me up
