First ever sale earned me a 1 star
I sold a microwave on FB marketplace, earned a 1 star review from another prospective buyer because I didn’t sell it to them.
Buyer A claimed I had “agreed” to sell it, in reality we were still working out the details, and they wanted it on Sunday. But buyer B (who messaged me the same time as buyer A) wanted to meet up today. So, first come first served, I sold it to buyer B. I even messaged buyer A letting them know I had sold it and they became upset.
What confused me the most was that they said to me “Why didn’t you tell me it was time sensitive and message me to get it today?” When I have no obligation to prioritize one buyer over the other if both messaged me at the same time and are paying the same price. Also I’m not a mind reader. If someone says “can I get it on this date” I assume they must not be available for earlier dates.
This was my first ever marketplace sale and I feel like I did my best to communicate. I’m not running a business or a side hustle, I just wanted to sell a microwave. My stars are now 3.0. From one 5 star seller review and this 1 star buyer review. So now I’m worried no one will want to do business with me at all.
