MMA is having its own version of WWE vs AEW with today's freakshow MVP MMA event

Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions held its own MMA event today streamed on Netflix featuring a triple main event, and the whole thing reeked of freakshow much in the way AEW did when it started out. Some funny parallels that I think Jim would get a kick out of if he followed this event at all:

  1. Main event was Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano. They sold it as the biggest fight in all MMA ever, and it ended in 15 seconds with armbar and absolutely no resistance by Gina, with the women immediately hugging and laughing about how they robbed Netflix of millions. Oh, and both essentially retired from MMA after the fight.
  2. They held this in the Intuit dome (think Raw debut on Netflix).... it was maybe 30% full in the stands outside of floor seating. They didn't even try to hide how empty that arena was.
  3. The event featured almost everybody you can imagine that has some beef with the big bad UFC - Ronda, Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz fought, while Jon Jones was interviewed, Ariel Helwani was the lead interviewer after fights.
  4. They talked about how the 'UFC should get prepared since MVP MMA is taking over'.
  5. Jake Paul had his own private seating box on the floor. This idiot was all over this event, standing beside each fighter getting interviewed and trying to sell a fight with Francis Ngannou. Tony Khan type shit.

Raja Jackson takes plea, gets 90 days in jail

I guess they weren’t ’playin with him’ no more. Dude has to pay 80k in restitution too. I hope Syko Stu is fine now, because this doesn’t sound like much to be paying by someone who is the son of a UFC champion.
