Exhaust Questions - Quiet(er) Mid pipe?
I just picked up a new MT-10 and I’m struggling with what I should do about the exhaust. My favorite thing about the bike is the sound of it and I want to hear more than what the stock set up offers. I wear earplugs so most of the stock exhaust sound is muffled. I took the stock muffler off today (left the cat on) and I was surprised how much that changed the sound of the bike. Definitely in the right direction but I’m hoping for a bit more.
First, is there a can that keeps that volume of what I am hear now and maybe adds a little deepness to it?
Second, I know most of the sound will come from deleting the cat but I don’t want the bike to be THAT much louder. Is there a less loud mid pipe? Maybe that with the stock can? I saw the Leo Vince has a resonator in it but not sure how much of a difference that makes.
I do some light touring with the bike and take my wife on rides occasionally so I don’t want to be hating the sound after a few hours in the saddle - plus I don’t like alerting the local LE that I’m coming.
