Top campus/housing/meal plan choices

Hello! I am an incoming UCSC freshman and my SIR appeal was accepted, so I need to start making a decision on what campus, housing, and meal plan to choose. I intend to do a single or a double in dorms, but I'd like recommendations on what things to choose. If it helps to know, I'm majoring in psychology, I would like to take my car (if possible), and I won't have any family out there, so I want to be able to meet a ton of people. Also, the conditional financial aid offer contains my estimated housing expenses, correct? So, I would just subtract my gift aid from my cost of attendance total (I don't intend to take up loans if I can help it). Any advice/help is appreciated :)

Submitting a late SIR appeal to UCSC success rate(?)

Hey everyone,

I got admitted to Santa Cruz when admissions were rolling out in March and after looking at their financial aid package, I didn’t submit my intent to enroll because I wouldn’t be able to financially afford it. Now, a couple days ago, I got notice that I received a scholarship that will pretty much set me up with any college I got admitted to for the next 4 years, and I submitted a misc appeal for missing the SIR deadline explaining my situation to Santa Cruz immediately after getting notified. It’s my top choice for the UCs, and also pretty much my only shot at going to a UC, but I wanted to ask if anyone’s had any luck getting their appeals accepted/approved? I also have no notion of when housing and stuff is due which I’m pretty worried about now, but I haven’t been keeping up because I wasn’t going to be able to attend up until a couple days ago. Any help or advice is appreciated, I’m a first year and I’m pretty worried about not getting housing or admitted at all for that matter.

How do I start identifying?

I want to start helping to identify John Doe's in connection to databases like NamUS, but I don't have a clue as to where or how to start. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated; I am deeply fascinated by missing persons cases and postmortem investigations and returning the name of an individual who cannot name themselves any longer would be of great signficance.
