What is your opinion about the Jobbsprånget program?

When I first heard about the Jobbsprånget program and saw some people joining it, I felt that it was almost like talent "exploitation" - people with several years of solid experience in another country and holding degrees being an intern and not compensated enough for their skills and expertise. Most of them don't get hired as full-time employees as well after the internship period. This could be a controversial opinion.

What is your opinion about the program?

How do you return back to your old employer/company after a couple of years?

Two years ago, I quit my job at a great company because I had to relocate to another country for my spouse's job and my old company though globally operational couldn't offer me relocation at the time. In the last two years, I have stayed in touch with some colleagues and my former boss.

I had sent my old boss (who is a C-level exec) a message towards the mid of last week that I am looking for new opportunities. Since he didn't have a current open position in his team, he asked me to check the job portal and let him know if there's any role that would remotely fit my profile. To my surprise, there was a short term role in the same global team which was open - although it isn't an exact fit but I felt that I could potentially be considered.

He asked me if I would like to speak to someone who holds the same role in the team and he could get someone for me to understand more about the role. I said that's a good idea and it will be helpful - I also let him know that I have worked with the person in the role currently although I wasn't sure if she would remember me. I concluded the message by saying that I may have worked with people in the same role but it would be nice if he could suggest the right person who could provide more insights about the role.

He has not responded since then. Was I sounding rude or "entitled" in my last message (since I said that I have worked with the person who is currently in the role but don't know if she remembers me since we haven't been in touch) or am I overthinking it?

Passport check (no e-passport) for work permit at Migrationsverket or Swedish embassy?

Current residence permits: student and dependent on student (which expires in a couple of weeks)

My husband, who is the primary work permit applicant and I (co-applicant) received a digital passport check email from Migrationsverket. However, since we do not have e-passports, we declined the digital check. Since then, we have not received any emails for booking appointments and My Page hasn't shown any appointments either.

Would you have to show your passport at the Migrationsverket or at a Swedish embassy in another country? How is it done if you don't have an e-passport?

Employer delaying work permit application

I have been living in Sweden since 2024 on a residence permit for studies with my husband who has been on a dependent permit. Since early 2025, my husband has been working full-time.

My studies are nearing completion soon, and my husband has been requesting his employer to switch to a work permit since a few months. However, his employer has delayed the application stating that his current dependent permit must first expire before they can proceed.

We understand that we may need to leave Sweden and wait outside the country while the work permit application is being processed. However, our understanding is that the application process could begin even before the current permit expires. Has anyone been in a similar situation and navigated this process before?
