Fine dining restaurant

Hello Burbank,

My wife and I will be that way in the beginning of October and are looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. We have an event prior and she will be in a nice dress and I will be in a suit. I am looking for suggestions that this attire will fit with so we do not stand out too much. I have heard good things about Osteria Mozza and we prefer Italian places but are open to anything really.

Walnut table for my wife.

Finally got this thing almost finished. Just have to do the nano coating. It is 40" wide and 90" long and 1.5" thick. (Meters for everyone else - 1.1 x 2.2 x .03) Took way longer than expected due to two arm surgeries. One that was caused by the table.

You can see the slabs I started with and the progression of the project. I cut them at a slight angle to get it as square as possible.

Next I ran each piece through the jointer at a friends shop.

After this I brought them home and did the glue up for the top.

I prepared it for the epoxy filling. This was my first time using epoxy so I probably over prepared. After it was cured the real work started. I had to use a chisel and heat to get the caulking off. Then I realized I poured it way too thick and had to use a heat gun and scrapper to get the extra epoxy off.

The next big learning experience is to check my saw for square before I use it. I cut my legs slightly oversized and realized the saw was off by a few degrees. I am lucky and there is a great woodworker here who helped me get them perfectly square at his shop.

After sanding everything as best I could, the second hiccup came along. The weather changed and the humidity dropped and the top cupped a little. Luckily the lumber mill I go to let me drop it off and they put it through the giant belt sander they have.

The third and final issue happened when I got it back from the lumber mill. I couldn't find anyone to help me get it in the house and lugged it in myself. Well this weakened the metal plate they put in my arm 8 months earlier and a few days later it snapped and I needed surgery to replace the hardware.

Here we are today and I got the legs on it, set it up, and am ready to do the nano coat.
