First amendment rage baiters at Toluca Lake TJs

I went to buy candies today at my local TJs, and this was my first time running into these pathetic souls. I was honestly confused and concerned about the fact that they were taking a video of my license plate so I asked another TJ customer. During our conversation, one guy with camera and mic walked up to us and went, “are you talking about me?” .
Anyway, just want to let you guys know that there is a possibility running into these people at Toluca Lake TJ on riverside blvd. Getting called “dumbasses” on a Sunday is not fun, but they don’t deserve any attention or interaction.

"Free Speech Auditors" at Toluca Lake Trader Joe's

Unfortunately these tools have moved on from the Post Office and are set up at the Toluca Lake TJ's.

As always, it's best to ignore them. Filming in public is permissible under the law and they are counting on people getting mad at them. That's what they want and why they are filming. One woman was trying to pull into the parking lot and got into it with them, jamming up traffic.

I'm posting here in case you'd rather avoid them.

Lexus Key Fobs Found - Buena Vista Park

Found 2 Lexus key fobs on the ground at Buena Vista Park while walking my dogs this afternoon. Left them on the picnic table closest to the Riverside/Bob Hope corner in case anyone is looking for them.

Did my run around Alameda/San Fernando today and decided to look at the ad for the Fan Zone they’re having for the World Cup Final in San Fernando near the mall and holy shit, they had to use resort to AI for the background.

Zoom in for the details

Metro V. City of Burbank, July 16th 1:30 PM, Stanley Mosk Courthouse DTLA

Screenshot from the city Facebook page.

I'm rather pissed my tax dollars are being wasted. The next elections can't come soon enough.

Garbage day garbage people

Putting your dog waste in other people's trash bins on garbage day AFTER the trash has been collected, is supremely troglodytic behavior. Especially in the summer, I don't want your dog's shit cooking in my trash bin for another week. Someone has been doing this without fail every week for months. If you're a Redditor, I just want you to know, I've placed an ancient Egyptian curse on my bin and the next time your put your dog waste in, you'll meet the fate of Lord Carnarvon.

Sorry for the NextDoor crossover episode that nobody wanted.

Carry on.

Does this town really have nothing going on during the 4th?

Wife and I usually travel around for the 4th, but now that we have a 1 year old we thought it would be best to hunker down and enjoy the festivities locally. Figured there may be a parade nearby, some sort of market downtown, or any other event thrown by Burbank to celebrate 250th and we're finding... nothing?

Only thing is the drone show at 9pm and turns out you can't even go to starlight itself anymore?

A little surprised since this town is very suburb/family oriented compared to most areas. Besides the drone show, does Burbank really have nothing going on during 4th of July?

Does anyone need plant matter for their garden?

Hello I eat a lot of plants and have a lot of biodegradable food waste. Was wondering if anyone would like my food waste for their garden. I feel so bad throwing it away as I know it can be soooo nutrient dense for composting. I live in an apartment and i don’t have a garden :( lmk! I can save them and give them to you at the end of the week or something.

Burbank in October

Hey, All! In the beginning of October I’ll be visiting Burbank and wanted to ask for suggestions. I’m hardly in Cali and will have two free days on my trip for spooky/rock n roll stuff. What are the recommendations IN Burbank or NEAR the area that I should hit up? Excluding the horror walk magnolia. Thanks!!!

Central Library Time Capsule Opening

There’s a 1977 time capsule in the Central Library park below the statue of David Burbank and it’s supposed to be opened on July 4th this year! A few days ago I asked a couple library staff about it and none of them were aware and were surprised when I told them. Seems like it’s been completely forgot about.

Anyone have any idea who might be responsible for opening these? The library staff thought maybe it could be a city of Burbank thing.

UPDATE: Just got word from a source that the library will make an announcement about this tomorrow. If I had to guess, they’ll say it’s too late to get it opened on the 4th but that they’ll plan another time soon to do it. Will update this post again tomorrow after the announcement.

Hidden barbecue??!

Everytime I leave Costco on Victory, I smell the most pleasant smell of BBQ . All I smell is savory smoked pork that makes my mouth DROOL. Google says there are no bbq spots on that corner or even in a 1 mile radius. Please someone tell me where those smells are coming from and how I can get a plate of whatever is cooking.

Pilonidal cyst surgeon recommendations?

Think I've finally hit my limit with the random cyst flare ups and want to get it fully removed. Does anyone have any recommendations for surgeons who specialize in pilonidal cyst removal near Burbank / Glendale?

I've looked into a few that are further away (Pilonidal Institute at Cedars, for example), but I'd like to avoid a longer commute, if possible. (If you've had one of these damn things, you know how painful it can be simply riding in a car.)

I've got a solid PPO, so insurance shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks in advance!

Can anyone give us the Craig & Kristin drama?

They seem to have split up but it seems like their might be some animosity there as they were running identical but competing events (neighborhood yard sales, Valentine’s Day giveaways, etc)

I feel like if it was amicable they wouldn’t be doing this.
