What is the best way to sell a slightly used bike locally in Los Angeles

I bought a Cannondale Quick in about 2017. Rode it about 5 times and then had an unrelated back problem that required surgery a few years later. It probably has about 100 miles on it. Since my surgery I'm just not able to sit on a bike for more than about 10 minutes. I hate seeing it gather dust and wanted to sell it to someone who will use it. It is XL size and been store inside a garage or shed its entire life.

I don't do facebook so that's out and its been a while since I've sold anything like this. What are the best online forums to sell used bikes locally?

DHMS lunch incident 5/20/26

Did anyone’s kids see what actually happened at lunch today at DHMS? Principal emailed that during lunch today, there was an incident involving a single student on campus that required lunch to end early. Burbank Police Dept was dispatched for consultation.

Filming at Lancers

Wanted to try out Lancers this morning for breakfast before some errands but there was filming going on inside the restaurant with a lot of gear. Didn’t really have time to look, anyone know what’s filming?

Is anyone else experiencing eye & throat irritation from the smoke & horrible air quality?

I know it is due to the fire in Simi Valley, but I didn't expect the air quality to be THIS bad and affect me the way it has when the fire is that far away.

*update ~ woke up with my eyes BRIGHT RED & a cough even with my windows closed and an air purifier in my living room, it keeps turning on*

Giving public comment tonight on SB79 and dedicated Bus Lanes? Here’s some details from the mayor

Since our local NIMBY group had a rally earlier this week with ~40 people…I’m expecting that we’ll only have 1 minute to give our public comments.

If you find yourself sitting next to Eddy Polon during the meeting be sure to thank him for working like crazy to organize support across a multitude of different activist organizations!

P.S. Anyone else chained to a desk during this meeting and planning to give their comment via phone while hiding under their desk so their boss doesn’t yell at them for not working? No? Just me? Oh.

Uber or Lyft

I'm going to need to take one or the other from time to time because I need pain meds and can't drive on them. Is one better then the other in the Burbank area? Thanks.

Favorite Parks & Rec exercise classes

I’ve been dabbling in several exercises classes through Burbank Parks & Rec. While I’ve had good experiences I haven’t quite found a class or instructor that is really clicking with me. Please let me know your experiences!

Yahtzee anyone (21+) at The Blue Room?

Do you sometimes say to yourself, “Self: when is the last time you really spoke to a human person?“ Or maybe you think: “I should really have more analog experiences. But who even does that anymore?” I think those things too. So:

Hello fellow Burbankians. Would anybody 21+ would like to play Yahtzee this evening at the Blue Room?

Today is Monday 5/18. I’m not an expert Yahtzee player or anything, I just haven’t played in a while and thought it would be fun. If you’ve never played before, have no fear. I am not good at complicated board games like The Settlers of Old Capann or whatever that deal is. Yahtzee is very easy. You just roll 5 dice, and keep score on a little piece of paper.

I mentioned this in the post about the person who had been going to breakfast with new people, and a few folks responded they might be interested. Monday nights are usually pretty quiet at the Blue Room, unless there’s a company party or something (which does randomly happen sometimes). Tonight might be a decent opportunity to play a few games, though.

If you don’t want to drink, that’s OK. They have plenty of water. One of my favorite nonalcoholic cocktails there is called a Half and Half. It’s half ginger ale, half cola, with a few cherries and a lime in the glass. The prices on non alcoholic drinks there are pretty darn reasonable. And the actual cocktails aren’t bad either.

Blue Room doesn’t have a food menu, but you can go next-door to Inkwell Tavern and get good burgers and truffle fries and stuff there. Otherwise Hamburger Habit is across the street.

I tend to hang out on the back patio. I will probably get there about 8 PM, and will stay till about midnight. I don’t anticipate anybody coming to join, as I have tried this before. But who knows? If you are personable, well-adjusted, and want to roll some dice for no other reason than to play a game, feel free to stop by, fellow Redditor.

If you can’t make it tonight, but are interested, drop me a line and I will make up some sort of list. I have other games that I would like to play, similarly easy, basic board games just for the sake of it.

PS: No offense to folks who like the popular very detailed games. You folks have Geeky Teas just a few blocks away on Alameda. Maybe they’ll have a Cones of Dunshire: Winds of Tremorrah tournament for you all at some point. I hear it’s punishingly intricate. Or you could come and play Yahtzee.

TL;dr - Play Yahtzee for fun, 21+, tonight Monday May 15, 2026 after 8pm, with local guy.

Horror Jobs

Hi all! Burbank film post-grad here near Magnolia Park. For a little about me, my life is completely dominated by horror. I write for a semi-popular horror publication as a side gig, have an unpaid internship with a fairly prominent horror production company, live, breath, and eat horror-I also have customer service expierience! Unofortunately, the fantastic internship and side gig don't really pay the bills.

Having emailed and called or sent my resume to basically every horror business on the infamous "horror row," I was curious if anyone had any suggestions or knew of any openings for horror-centric jobs! The Mystic Museum, Halloweentown, Horror Boodega all have my resume but aren't actively hiring, and Be Kind Video, Hollywood Posters and Books have all been inquired about.

Would love to know of anything I'm missing, any recommendations for Burbank (or happy to commute to Hollywood), or if anyone knew of any openings. Not picky right now-quite the opposite! Just need to pay the bills, but would love to work somewhere spooky :)

District 30 Congressional candidate Cameron Tennyson confronts Joel Lava over comments denying the Palestinian genocide

Some context:

In a past reddit AMA for his campaign Joel Lava was quickly asked if he would condemn Israel for their ongoing genocide in Palestine, and Joel refused to acknowledge it as a genocide.

At a recent protest Cameron Tennyson (also running in District 30) made this video talking with Joel in further depth about his views on the Palestinian genocide, and why Joel refuses to refer to it as a genocide.

Honestly, can't believe he'd say some of this stuff on camera.
