2014 Scion tC
When stopped at a red light, my rpms drop really low to 500–550 rpms and it’s slightly fluctuates while sitting there until I start driving again. It also gets a random surge of power for a quick second while just cruising down the road. I googled it and spent so much time trying to figure it out. It could be something with a throttle body or a vacuum leak or MAF needs to be clean, etc. I know nothing about cars and I can’t afford to just take it anywhere and get ripped off. I just replaced all 4 tires AND the got brand new back brakes/rotors. I did have a friend look at it and he basically just said that it’s gonna need a lot of repairs and replacements given it just hit 105,000 miles and it’s kind of oldish car. He suggested trading it in while it still has value. That made my heart break just thinking about never seeing my baby again. This car is like my child. We have been through so much together. I dont know what to do. Please help. Any advice is appreciated
