Tandem TSlim/Android App Communications Improvement After Pump Update To V7.10.4
I have always had issues with the Android App, running on my Samsung S23 Ultra phone, losing connection to my TSlim pump. It will usually only maintain connection for a couple of minutes. To re-connect, you would need to stop the app, then stop and restart bluetooth, then restart the app. It would usually take 30 or 40 seconds to connect to the pump after an app restart. I also couldn't leave the app running in the background because it would use way too much battery, probably because it was constantly trying to re-connect to the pump.
I know this is a common fault as it has been reported here in many posts.
Two days ago I updated my pump to V7.10.4, not because I needed to use the Dexcom G7-15 Day sensor (I use Libre-3+), but I wanted to see if anything else was improved.
Since that update, my Samsung S23 Ultra phone hasn't lost connection to my pump unless the distance between caused the outage. And even in this case, once the two devices are near each other, they automatically reconnect in 10 seconds or less. No more restarting the app and bluetooth. Also, when the app restarts, it connects to the pump in 10 seconds or less, rather than the 30 or 40 seconds it had been taking. I also notice my phone battery lasts a lot longer, even if the app is left running in the background.
To me, this finally makes the Android app useable as originally intended.
Has anyone else noticed this improvement after pump update to V7.10.4 ?
