UK customer service unresponsive?

Emailed them on Sunday. Then again on Monday. Called on Tuesday and today. Also emailed today morning. No responses yet and they're not picking up the phone.

How is this acceptable? My supplies are late for the 5th time and now they seem to have completely stopped providing any kind of support in the UK.

Being switched to Edgepark...

Been ordering from Tandem direct since I started. Got the email that it will now be Edgepark Medical. Guessing that isn't great.

Edit to add: If relevant, the email was from Tandem, not my insurance company. (Cigna)

New site absorption

I used to keep the old site on to alternate between until the new site started working. This used to take over an hour, but I read this tip in the group & it helped me keep my blood sugar level. A few wks ago I noticed we can change the amount we fill the cannula! I was on the lowest setting. I bumped it up to the highest & now I don’t have to wait over an hour for my site to start absorbing. I don’t remember the tandem tech going over this w/ me. Sharing to help others who might want to try this out.
ETA: I just checked my packing list paperwork & it all makes sense now! Lol They never changed it from .3 units!!! And I’ve been using the same infusion sets since I started Lol It’s finally on the correct setting!!! LOL For those who haven’t noticed it, u click on the “edit fill amount” section when u go to fill the cannula.

Mobile app question

Is analyzing the data and generating the reports really too heavy a task to do it on a phone? I would like to get reports without connecting to Tandem and uploading the data. Just wondering...

Software Updates without Tandem USB cord?

Has anyone had this work? I’m trying to update my pump and don’t have the original cord.. I honestly don’t remember ever having it but three different devices haven’t recognized the pump connected via a normal USB cord.

Has anyone ever had the updates work with normal cords or is the Tandem cord a requirement?

Libre 3+ Problems

TLDR: Libre3+ sucks, especially with Tslim.

Had a successful trial run with a 3+ sensor from my endo a couple months ago and decided I would try it out when my Rx for the G6 ran out. That was about 17 days ago. First sensor was very inaccurate and I found out then there is NO WAY to calibrate the sensor if you use a Tslim pump. Not through the pump and the app is useless if you use the Tslim 2, literally.

I’m 48 hours into the 2nd sensor and it goes no connection. After an hour I try Bluetooth on and off, phone on & off.

Tandem support is good. But I had to load a new cartridge, wasting 50 units of insulin (more than a 3 day supply) only for the restart of the sensor to still fail. They pass me to Abbott customer service who have me confirm stuff and then say they will send me a new sensor and I have start a new one.

It’s my bad for knowing about previous issues with bad calibration issues with the Libre 3+ causing deaths. But I would have thought my endo who also has type 1 would have known the pump is unable to recalibrate the sensors and that the app is incompatible with the pump. I did call them on Friday regarding the calibration issue but haven’t heard back.
I’m so pissed off (high blood sugar style) that I might have to deal with these for 3 months. I hope my endo can convince my insurance that these CGMs are incompatible with my pump.
Ugh.
Edit: the first sensor was inaccurate enough that I puked like 6 times within 24 hours of activation.

Pump Charging Discovery

Thought I would share with the group a cool thing I discovered today, my son's pump was almost dead and we were not home. On a whim, I tried my Samsung Power Sharing feature and it worked! I know it is not life changing information, but good to know if ever in a bind. He is 11, so sometimes forgets to charge his pump.

Forgot my supplies at home and am currently out of town ... What to do on a Sunday?

Edit: I wanted to let everyone know I made it home and got more supplies and insulin going. I ended up cutting carbs out pretty significantly during the day and we left earlier than initially intended. I want to say thanks for the support and thoughts on how to get by and especially say thanks to the people who volunteered their own supplies and insulin. I really appreciate. I have already tucked some supplies into my truck so if something like this happens again, I would just need to get a vial of insulin and be back in business. But... I have a feeling for the next few years when my wife and I head out, she will be sure to ask if I have it all with me haha

Hi everyone, I am currently a few hours from home at my inlaws. We are in commerce township, MI. I am newer to a pump (started the mobi in April and had not had a pump prior to that). Somehow when I was packing up my bag for being away, I completely forgot to get my mobi supplies and insulin. We are going home this evening so I am trying to get by until we get home.

I am trying to figure out what to do. I called tandem and they weren't a ton of help with being able to track things down. My supplies comes from a medical supply company in ohio. My insulin is from Costco. I'd really like to avoid having to buy a 10 pack of cartridges to get my by.

I read online that you can refill a cartridge but I don't have the adapter or the plunger with me so that is out.

Anyone have any thoughts? If I need to, I could potentially buy a vial of insulin and syringes and just give my boluses to myself that way and use the pump to do my basil but obviously if someone has a better way to get out of this jam, I'd love to hear it

First thing I'm doing when I get home tonight is putting some supplies in my car so I at least have that covered if it ever happens again. Usually I take a ton of extra supplies but somehow this time I completely overlooked it

Bleeding from sites

I just removed a site on my abdomen, Autosoft 90 that had been in 3 days. No pain. No blood on cannula. Looked down and realized it was pouring blood from the old site, took a good minute to clot and got blood all over my pj's and is now bruising. It is just so weird because it didn't hurt and was working pretty good, I did have a few lows the last few days. Anyone else have this happen?

Pump Cannula Sites

I've just noticed on my thigh where I had my cannula inserted at least a week ago, it is still painful and feels quite firm. It's close to 2cm in diameter.

I'm not sure if it's insulin trapped, or if it's somehow got infected.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Should I talk to my Dr or wait it out for a bit longer?

I'm very careful to have a clean site and not touch the cannula so I'm unsure how this would happen...

Anyone having problems with the autosoft 30s?

I’ve switched to them recently and I’ve noticed that I’ll insert them and they’ll work for a few hours (usually up to 12-16 hrs) but then they don’t work and I think it might be an absorption issue? Because they’ll work and then they just don’t and my sugar will get into the 300s and me blousing to correct it does nothing unless I change the site. Also for context, I put them around my stomach and I’ve tried some closer to my sides and they’ve all done that. I’ve only had one site that worked for more than 24 hours out of 4 or 5 this week. Anyone else having issues like that?

Your average # of days using an infusion set - update

I am aware the max # of days was discussed 3 years ago (and maybe more recent but I haven't found it), and I'd like to know what most people do. I'm not asking who set the Guiness world record for max days (though that would be funny/interesting). I'm just asking what most do, given the directions are 2-3 days. The doctors/nurses really make you nervous about infection if you go more than 3, which I get, but it seems a bit odd considering a dexcom is inside you for 2 weeks (I know, no fluid coming out, but still, it's a foreign body). Anyway, average # of days people do would be appreciated.

Occlusion alerts going unnoticed??

Occlusion alerts going unnoticed??

I've had the Mobi now for close to 2 years. There have been a handful of times I've woken up in the morning to learn that the Mobi had detected an occlusion and stopped insulin delivery. I would imagine plenty of you out there. I have experienced the same thing and had high blood sugars because of it..

For this specific issue, the app and pump alerts aren't enough to wake me up in the middle of night.

****** So I found a simple solution!!! ( If you're using Android ) *******

In the Google Play app store, you can pay a one time fee of $3.99 to download an app called BuzzKill. It's an advanced notifications manager tool.

In BuzzKill, I've created a custom alert that looks at the Mobi notifications on the phone. If the notification says "occlusion" or "stopped", the BuzzKill app will then go into whatever audible and vibration alert you want. I have mine set to be persistent (aka nonstop) when this is detected until I acknowledge and dismiss the notification.

Please share if you are aware of any other solutions such as incorporating the Sugar Pixel pillow vibration puck to do the same thing. Or, if there is a similar solution on the iPhone.

Tandem Mobi 30A

Has anyone gotten the 30A cartridge alarm on tandem mobi and then it started working again? I got a cartridge to work on the third try but now I’m nervous it’s going to stop working in the middle of the night so considering firing up the old trusty t-slim just in case?

G7 and TSlimx2

Hi ya, So I just started my first G7 session on my Tslim. With my G6 I always started the session on my pump because I feel that prevented signal loss if my phone wasn't near me. When starting the G7 I had to go through the tutorial on my phone app, so therefore it started there. Then I proceeded to try and start it on my Tandem with the code on the side of the applicator but it WOULD NOT allow me to put the 0 in at the end.....so then I tried it with NO CODE and now it is telling me the transmitter expired!!! UGGGG. Before I did anything this morning, I deleted the g6 app on my phone and the bluetooth sessions in my phone's settings. Any advice to fix this before I call Dexcom?

Better Business Bureau BBB

After weeks of back and forth with Tandem directly, fighting with them to get a new pump..currently waiting for it to be delivered. Anywho, the stuff I’ve dealt with the last 8 weeks is literally insane. Last week I requested a copy of our recorded phone call, or the conversation we had sent in an email. The woman used innappropriate terms her exact words “eat the cost” with my insurance..when we spoke a few days later she said I was taking what she said out of context. Um no..I would like to report them..I’ve never reported anyone or complained about anything. I’ve read lots of people have had similar issues. Curious if anyone has reported them? Is it even worth it? I don’t want anything I just wanna make sure other people can call and get a new pump and not be treated to abuse. My previous post has more details

Dexcom G7 stopped communicating with my t:slim X2 — what finally worked

I’m sharing this because it took me quite a while to figure out, and it may help someone else who runs into the same problem.

My daughter uses a Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump with a Dexcom G7 sensor.

The G7 sensor itself was working normally — I could see glucose readings in the Dexcom app on the phone. The problem was specifically the connection between the G7 sensor and the t:slim X2 pump.

The sensor had been inserted about two days earlier.

What happened

The pump stopped receiving CGM readings. On the pump, I initially saw the red crossed-out antenna icon, indicating that the pump was not communicating with the sensor.

I contacted Dexcom Technical Support, and they referred me to Tandem. Tandem Support recommended restarting/resetting the pump.

What I did

I disconnected the infusion set from the body and put the pump into Storage Mode:

  1. Connected the Tandem USB cable to the pump and a power source.
  2. Held the Screen On/Quick Bolus button for approximately 30–40 seconds.
  3. Released it after the pump beeped/vibrated three times.
  4. Disconnected the pump from power and confirmed that the screen would not turn on.
  5. Reconnected it to power, and the pump turned back on after about 30 seconds.

This is consistent with Tandem's official Storage Mode procedure.

Important: the pump needed the cartridge to be loaded again

After restarting, the pump went through the initial screens and then reported that it did not detect the insulin cartridge.

I went through:

Options → Load

and followed the pump's instructions:

  • confirmed that the infusion set was disconnected from the body;
  • removed and reinstalled the filled cartridge;
  • connected the tubing to the cartridge;
  • performed Fill Tubing;
  • confirmed that insulin had reached the end of the tubing;
  • resumed insulin delivery.

Tandem states that after Storage Mode the pump's IOB is not retained and a cartridge must be loaded again before insulin delivery can resume.

Then came the G7 problem

After the pump returned to the Home screen, there were still no CGM readings.

Interestingly, the CGM menu did not simply show "Start G7 Sensor" in the way I expected. The pump appeared to consider the G7 session active, but it still wasn't receiving glucose data.

I did NOT press:

Stop G7 Sensor

This is important because Tandem states that once an active G7 session is manually stopped, the same sensor cannot be restarted and a new sensor is required.

What finally fixed it

I went back into the CGM section and found the option to enter the G7 pairing code.

I entered the same pairing code that had been used when the sensor was originally connected.

The pump connected to the existing G7 sensor.

The CGM readings came back and everything started working normally again.

So in my case, the sensor itself was fine. The Dexcom app was receiving data the whole time. The problem was that the t:slim X2 had lost/rejected its connection to the active G7 session after the pump had been restarted.

Tandem's documentation confirms that an active CGM session is stored on the sensor and can be rejoined after the pump has been shut down. Their current G7 instructions also describe entering the pairing code when reconnecting the pump to an active session.

My takeaway

If your Dexcom G7 is working on the phone but the t:slim X2 is not receiving readings, and Tandem has advised you to restart the pump, the sequence that worked for me was:

Storage Mode → restart pump → reload cartridge → resume insulin delivery → go to CGM settings → enter the existing G7 pairing code → reconnect to the active sensor.

And most importantly:

DO NOT press "Stop G7 Sensor" just because the pump isn't receiving readings. If the existing sensor session is still active, stopping it manually can mean losing that sensor and having to insert a new one.

This is my personal experience, not medical advice or a replacement for Tandem/Dexcom technical support. Always follow the instructions for your specific pump/software version and make sure you have an alternative way of monitoring glucose while the pump/CGM connection is unavailable.
