Ford, now Buick getting serious?

It was seeming like US legacy auto makers were giving up on EVs. But now Ford is launching their EV truck, the Phantom, which will start around $30k. Buick is launching an EV Electra that will start around $25k. Neither are direct competitors to the R2, but it has me getting a tad nervous about what could be coming next and how Rivian will adapt to better competition. Or maybe this is just good overall news that will make EVs more attractive to consumers at large. What’s your thoughts?

Will it survive?

I planted a Korean maple 2 years ago and stumbled across this subreddit recently, and immediately became worried I planted the tree too deep. I think I’ve exposed the root flare but one side of the trunk looks wounded. I’d say about 1/3 of the circumference. I had a tree guard on so I’m not sure what caused this. Canopy came back full this spring and otherwise looks healthy.
