Financial Aid Cancelled
It's my first year in college and I honestly do not regret coming to UIC and experiencing what I did this school year. I finished first semester with a GPA lower than a 1.0 and I was placed on academic probation, I was advised to get my grades up to a 2.0. I knew this was going to be dang near impossible for someone like me but regardless I locked in. Halfway into my second semester I end up having more family, mental health and financial problems but I persevered and I finished this semester with a GPA over 2.0 for the semester and an institutional GPA of 1.60.
My financial aid still got cancelled and I have plans on submitting that SAP appeal but I'm now heavily considering going to community college to get my grades up. My career choice is to be a radiology technician or a social worker.
I wanted to ask if anyone knew if I would still qualify to go to CCC for free? I graduated high school with a gpa above 3.0 but already completed a year at UIC. I'm looking for the best thing for me financially since I'm currently looking for a therapist and want to save as much money as possible. I've contacted my academic advisor that I want to get started on the transfer process and they haven't replied so I've been a little confused on how to start.
