Where to safely park E-cargo bike downtown so I can commute from distance?
Hi! I'm moving to Ottawa and brining my cargo bike (Tern GSD). I'll be working in an office downtown (Bank & Gloucester) and want to use it to commute but my office doesn't have secure parking. Does anybody else do this? I need to get a few kids to school on route and I'm coming from reasonably far out so "buying a cheap bike" probably not going to work for me.
These are my ideas. I don't love any of them:
- Park at City Hall? then I’ve still got a bit of a walk on either end….
- Rent a bike spot at garage from someone with a condo downtown? (anyone done this?)
- Secure public bike parking lockers, I see a few spots that could work, but not even sure it would fit inside, also the cost isn’t great if I’m doing it daily. Has any used them?
- 210 Gloucester Street,
- 141 Clarence Street
- Buy insurance, leave a huge chain lock downtown on a pole, take the battery out when I arrive and hope for the best?
- Any other options? Would love to hear what you do, especially if you roll with a cargo-bike.
