New Album Tracks at Deadrocks Cements it as The Boy's Best.

Piggybacking off my review of the Return to the Return... Just got done seeing Night 1 and 2 of Deadrocks. This was absolutely the best comprehensive Deadrocks (Night 1+2) we've had this decade.

Coming into the Rocks, I was really excited to hear the new tracks from the album played out live. Oh boy... Even with high expectations, it still blew them out of the water. The mastering on the tracks especially stood out and made the drops sound exceptionally crisp and heavy. From what I remember we got:

The Return

In Your Head

Angel 2

Pourin Rain

Living Room

Sting

Out of Time

Fallin Down

Portal

Fly Around the World.

Out of Time was easily the standout drop of the entire album and was pure euphoria. Pourin Rain had incredible lows and was groovy to dance to in the rain. Living Room and Fallin Down really surprised me in how much it climbed up in my ranking of songs from the album. Sting was a wild ride just as it is in my car. The Return was pure hype and had me jumping. Fly Around the World was a perfect end cap to the entire event and a great sendoff for the tour.

Each drop easily placed itself in my all-time favorite Zeds Dead tracks to hear live from a singular album/EP (just like Catching Zs). The album is the culmination of styles in their discography so this allowed the tracks to just seamlessly fit into their setlist. The songs each had very fluid transitions and nice dispersion throughout the entire set.

I'm stoked to hear these all over again in Vancouver on the tour. Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did when you see them on the tour. It's going to be one for the books.

P.S. The boys do indeed control the weather. How do you get the rain to only fall during Sweet Memories and Pourin Rain (which was the hardest it rained)? Make sure to spread the word to everyone y'all know.

The Culmination of Zeds Dead Sound

The title is what it is. This album is quite simply the culmination of Zeds Dead sound they've developed over their careers. It's heavy, groovy, genre-defying, and just a master class in composition. I'm still going to need a few days to fully process, but I think this is their best body of work yet. Having seen the boys so many times, it's incredible I've never heard any of these played out or live tested. Just goes to show they are the best taste makers in the game, and know when they have gold. What a beautiful album to get jumped by out of nowhere. Can't wait to hear them at the Rocks, see y'all there!
