I have to move to lubbock from Amarillo for work and the apartment/housing situation has been almost impossible to sort out. Rental townhomes and houses can go for insane monthly prices and have crazy deposits so im too broke for them. But it seems like every single apartment I've contacted with rent below 1300 are income restricted government housing and i make 2x too much. Im from Amarillo where 1300 can get you a decent rental house. Why is lubbocks renting situation so fucked? Is it really all just government housing?
