[DE] Revolut is starving my 9-month-old son – Account frozen for 45+ days, no documents requested. (BaFin & Ombudsman involved)

I am posting this out of sheer desperation. Revolut is currently withholding my entire remaining balance, and my family is in an acute existential crisis. My main bank account is deep in overdraft because of this, and I literally have no money left to buy basic necessities and food for my 9-month-old baby.

Here are the absurd facts of my case:

  • Locked since May 19, 2026: My account was restricted for a "standard security review".
  • Zero Documents Requested: In over 45 days, the compliance team has not asked for a single document, payslip, or source of funds. Nothing.
  • They admitted fault: I filed a formal complaint. On June 8, Revolut sent me their "Final Response Letter", officially admitting they made mistakes handling my case. They even paid me €100 as compensation for the trouble.
  • But my main balance remains frozen: Despite closing the formal complaint and paying me off with a compensation fee, they refuse to unfreeze my actual money.

I have already submitted all evidence to the German Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and filed an official case with the Ombudsman of Private Banks in Berlin. I have literally done everything by the book.

I don't even want to be a customer anymore. I just want my funds transferred back to my original bank account so I can feed my son.

The in-app support only sends automated copy-paste replies and refuses to manually escalate this to a human in compliance, even though I have stated multiple times that my child's basic needs are at risk.

My account has been placed under a "routine security review" for 30 days now. Like many others here, the support chat is just giving me the same automated copy-paste answers every day. They haven't asked for a single document, invoice, or source of funds yet. It's just complete radio silence while my money is frozen.
