Finally Joining The Club

Finally got the 2026 SE PHEV up in Canada after 3 months, visiting 4 dealerships, and having to move my deposit from 1 dealer to another to secure incoming stock 😅

I'm naming it "Mark II" in reference to Ironman's metallic 2nd suit from the Marvel movies and the fact that it's my 2nd car (came from a Corolla Hatchback)

As it's my first ever Electric/Hybrid vehicle, tips and advice are welcome!

Gen 5 Winter Tire Size?

Picking up a PHEV SE in the next week or so up in Canada. I am considering getting this and this as the winter tire / wheel combo (215/55/17 with 17x7). Just wanting to see if this fit would work and if it would cause any issues. The default tire size doesn't have many winter tire choices so I'm opting for a different size.

From what I've read on here, there seems to be a variety of sizes people have gone with but 225/55/17 and 215/55/17 seem to be the most common? What would be the pros and cons of each? Would it matter much in the end?

Prius SE (Gen 5) Bezel Cover?

Will be getting an SE in a few weeks so I'm looking to accessorize. The piano-black bezel around the 8 inch display is a bit much so I'm looking for ideas to not just have a giant black slab around the screen. I was thinking something like this (not that colour specifically) but am having a hard time finding an SE equivalent. I'm curious what other people have done with their black slabs!

2026 Prius PHEV Wait Times For Canada?

Bit of a rant but Toyota's way of allocating cars resulting in long waits is a pain to deal with! Right now, not a single dealership in my province of Manitoba has a Prius XSE on allocation that's not already pre-sold so I'm stuck on a wait list with no concrete ETA. I remember when I bought my Corolla Hatchback years ago, I had to wait a month and that felt like a long time back then. Nowadays, a 6 month wait is considered "normal" by Toyota standards since something like the Rav 4 or Sienna can take up to a year (apparently?) which is pretty wild to me. The government incentives + Toyota's $5k discount on the Prius are major factors for the low availability which is frustrating if you want to snag one up as there's no guarantee these promos last the long wait times.

Okay rant aside: I'm curious if my fellow Canadians on here have had better luck lately getting a Prius PHEV with the incentives in full swing? What were / are your wait times like where you're located?

EDIT: from what I'm gathering, it looks like bigger metropolitan cities have much better stock than I do. Just geographical bad luck I suppose.
