Diagnosed with DIE (and adenomyosis confirmed)

Hi everyone,

I’ve never posted here before—I’ve only been active in the adenomyosis subreddit since my diagnosis a few months ago.

Today, after getting the results of my MRI, I was also diagnosed with Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis (DIE) with adhesions (bladder and intestines). So, I guess I’m officially part of this community now, too. I'm only 21 and when I read the results I felt my heart sinking, but I'm glad that at least now I know what's causing me all this pain.

Sending big hugs and positive vibes to all the girls and women who are going through this right now. ❤️

Taking pain relievers before getting your period

I’m 21 and have suffered from debilitating cramps ever since I got my first period.

It was only recently (thanks to this subreddit!) that I discovered that taking painkillers a few days before my period can help make the cramps less debilitating. Not a single obgyn or doctor I’ve seen in the last 8 years has ever told me anything like that. I usually ended up taking painkillers only when the pain had already become unbearable and was spreading practically everywhere, in fact, they didn't help much.
I’m shocked.

For those of you who take painkillers before your period, have you found that it helps reduce the pain? At least enough to get out of bed and be able to move/walk?

Hello everyone, I was wondering about something. I've been on Slynd for 3 months (January-March) but I had to stop taking it due to awful side effects. Then, a week ago I got my period after going off Slynd, and it's been the worst period I've ever had so far.

My cramps/bleeding have always been pretty bad, but this time it was a whole different thing. I was stuck in bed for almost four days, even just going to the bathroom was a struggle, and the painkillers didn’t really do anything for me.

I wanted to ask if any of you have had similar experiences, and if so, how long it took for your period to go back to normal.

Mine has always been bad, but this is truly unbearable, and I’m afraid it might not go back to how it was before I started taking the pill. I know every body reacts differently, but I wanted to hear a bit about your experiences ^-^

Hello everyone 🌸

I’ve recently started to embroider, and I’m currently looking for a nice website to buy kits from that ships to the EU, specifically to Italy. Do you have any recommendations?

(I really liked snuggly monkey website, but unfortunately it doesn’t ship to the EU).

I’ve recently made another similar post here, asking if there‘s anything that can help with adeno that is not BC.

I’ve been diagnosed with adeno a couple months ago, and in the past I’ve been prescribed several times with BC to manage my super heavy and painful periods. Spoiler: every single BC (I’ve been on 4) gave me major depression, mood swings, nausea, migraines, and although it stopped my periods completely and the pain too, it was psychologically and emotionally unbearable (I wish I was being dramatic, but it really was psychologically debilitating).

The side effects were so bad that at one point I chose to live with the pain rather than going back on BC. Fast forward to now: the pain has gotten worse, and I don’t know how to manage it. I’m also seeing a OBGYN who’s specialized in this area, but the only thing I ever hear over and over is that BC is the only “””solution””” I have (and an IUD I currently can’t have — and it might not work either).

Has anyone here had a similar experience? Meaning that for some reason you couldn’t be on BC, but it was the only “solution” offered to you every time?

I’m not willing to compromise and seriously damage my mental health just to avoid having my period, and I refuse to believe that there’s nothing that can help besides BC.
I’m just so tired of living with all this pain and such a low quality of life.

Edit: Thank you all for your replies! 🌸
